I for one am very glad the Supreme Court saw the majority of the states already allowed same sex marriage. It was just a matter of Federalizing the law. I think many same sex couples who had delaying their marriage until this day will finally get to getting married.
*nods* What a blessing to see this happen in our lifetime. It's been a long and hard fought battle and i'm sure there will be more but this weekend, the LGBT community will be celebrating!
As everyone celebrates pride tomorrow, keep in mind and honor those who've fought for equality over the years, the lives of those who've passed and did not get to see this day and those who have suffered through the course of history. It's about time people start treating others as people. We're all human and a person's sexual orientation should not have been subject to the injustices forced upon them for so long. This is a very important and historic day indeed.
There's going to be a lot of butt hurt from this. If you celebrate pride, be careful out there and also stay hydrated. At least where i'm at, supposed to be triple digit temperatures.
I was overjoyed when the ruling was made official at 10am EST. (still am!!) Anyone who still wants to challenge this LONG-OVERDUE victory for human rights needs to take the first ticket back to the Mesozoic, because 1) gay is not a mental disorder 2) gay is a way of life 3) gay is here to stay. DEAL WITH IT!
