Would you redo...?

Writers NEED comments.
Tell writers what you think, even if you hate it. We've all seen things in the entertainment industry that failed to live up to expectations. Occasionally, we know EXACTLY what we would do to fix it if we had the chance. Here's your chance to get it out. If someone gave you a chance to remake/redesign/rewrite anything you wanted, what would it be and how would you change it? Respond to this journal with what you would fix.

First, I'd put the 'Sayonara' back in 'Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog.' The line was significant in SA2, and translating it completely into English robbed it of it's significance. It's like when Yoplait stopped saying 'C'est si bon' in it's commercials.
That aside, the major improvement it needs in in gameplay. I know they wanted to go a different way than with Sonic by giving Shadow guns, but they went too far with it. The gunplay ended up slowing down the game too much, so it didn't feel enough like a Sonic game. I would alter the mechanic so that you could keep the gunplay without losing the speed.
In my version, when you locked-on to a target (by pressing and holding the left shoulder button), instead of stopping, you would begin circling the target on an invisible tether. By tilting the directional stick left and right, you would increase or decrease the radius of the circle. Your shots would be directed at the target automatically. By 'clicking' the left shoulder button at the right time, you could switch from circling one target to another. In this way, you could 'swing' from one target to another without slowing down. Some stages would need to be redesigned slightly, but most would remain the same.
That's my idea. To those who have played the game, do you think that would have improved it? What things would you change if you had the opportunity?
