My father ran away from us last year. He's still paying our mortgage, but left the rest of the bills to my sisters and I because my mother is disabled and can't work. He's told us he's living in a hostel. I barely bring enough income for my own bills and groceries, while my other sister is paying the other bills.

A lot has been forced onto my sisters and I. I can't get my car going now because all my savings are being absorbed by bills that my mother and sister are unable to pay.

I don't know if my advice will be useful or not, but try to be as neutral as possible. Try to find out both sides of the story as to why your parents are separating.

It's not easy, that's for sure. Something I had to deal with, myself. Best thing to do is find stability in yourself. Family is family, and any splitting of it is bad, but a family as a unit of people is just as capable of a bad idea, as any one sole person is, as well. Poke me if you need to talk.
