Feeling exceptionally bleh right now.

A very close friend from a while back, who had to cut contact with me and many others very suddenly about a year ago, has just returned to weasyl and posted some art. It would seem that I never unfollowed them from here… and really, I don’t know if I want to. I enjoy their art. But the memories… They’re very bittersweet. I’m not in much shape for socialization at the moment. Sorry to anyone hoping to talk.
I don’t know if I want to try to reestablish contact with them. I don’t know how to go about doing that, either. I seem to still be on their ignore list.
I do miss them, but I don’t know if trying to talk to them again is a good idea or if it will just be bad times all around for both of us.

But in all honesty, I think it all depends on what exactly happened, and what you say if you do decide to contact them. You should probably not approach them the same way if they cut contact angrily, as if they did so more gently, etc.
I think it's also worth it to ask, in the case of new friends or friends that got kinda... stale, I guess you could say; what did their friendship bring to you, and did it mean a lot? If it meant a lot, and it brought you enough good for the bad, then they may be worth contacting; otherwise, you might want to think twice.
It's a tough choice I've had to make a few times before, so if anything, I can empathize with your situation.
(By the way, you don't have to answer those questions to me; I just meant for them to be reflected upon)
We parted on good terms; it was things happening in their private life that led to this, and I don't know all the details.
