day 6 and the drugs are kicking in

I haz teh flu. And it has been no fun. Except for the fever dreams.....they were kinda fun....there were ninjas, Simon Tam, and a canoe chase....and other naughty bits I won't discuss ^^
Sloooowly getting better, still feel like I've been throttled tho. Gave me plenty of time to ponder things and draw. The art is back in the gallery, until I get pissed again and take it all down. Though Weasyl will get my newer arts first, and I will be more active over there. Uploading my art in waves over there so as not to flood everyone's inboxes.
other life updates include
Everyone else on my side is okay healthwise. We're a long way from being sure but my mother's cancer seems to be stopped in it's tracks. My dad's leg problems haven't gotten any worse...but the docs are still rather clueless. I'm hoping exercise and nutrition will help clear it up. My sister is still alive despite her best efforts. Still not having anything to do with her since the big fight last Fall, and as result it's given me so much more free time. And it reduced my likelihood of getting stomach ulcers. Being her bitch wasn't working for me.
Bears and coyotes are keeping their distance lately so my chickens have been safe. .22 shot is good a deterrent. Last year I lost four to a bear attack and the rest picked off by coyotes. Working on getting the new coop and lot built but there have been snags.
Had a shady fellow show up on July 2nd, he looked like he was trying to pilfer metal and such. He got flustered when I stood in my doorway with a gun so he proceeded to badly reverse down the driveway. Hope he got a flat tire on the junk he ran over. So that was something. I reported it but haven't heard a thing.
The main focus lately has been the garden. We've been needing a good garden for a year or so. Last year's was an epic fail, too wet. This year it's almost been too dry. When harvest time comes I'm going to be busy drying, pickling, canning and freezing everything. Mom has a ton of things to teach me. Still need to fix the gourd trellis. And I need to go out there and weed everything or the neighbors will start pointing.
Right now we've been sidetracked trying to get the porch fixed. The wood was over twenty years old and it was a matter of time before I or my fat cat went thru it. :(
That's about it. Hanging out on the couch under the fan trying to stay hydrated.
Sending everyone wishes for a lovely summer....or winter for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy it and take care :3

Here there are coyotes again, but not as close as my house growing up. At home, they would be right outside my room and gave me night terrors, and our aviaries were super fortified. Here I never see them, just hear them off in the other said of the little home area. Usually I just get a buck sneaking up on us and that scares me enough sometimes =.= All the same I refuse to leave the sliding door open with just the screen, even with the bunny in her run at night.
Sucks on the flu, I think I am developing adult allergies. I don't have my tell tales of being sick, and all the symptoms of allergies so that sucks.
The coyotes are a menace around here I'm afraid. Jerked my rooster's tail feathers out and made several attempts at the two hens i have left. They stay caged in their movable pen now. I've seen two at the perimeter of my yard and our trail cam picked up more in the woods at night. They're all over, and i fear for my kitties at night. I've gotten a shot off at one, missed it but they've gotten the message to steer clear I think.
The bear was a crazy fluke, but once he got a taste of chicken he kept coming back until we had to put a stop to it. That one wasn't afraid of people one bit. Very sad business that.
Yeah, I would be leery of leaving a sliding door open too. :( which is a shame cause night breezes are wonderful in summertime.
Allergies are awful, you have my sympathies and cups of herbal internet teas Here's to hopes of getting better, eh?
Ah yeah, no poachers around here, but I did have a group of assholes harassing me, so I sympathize there. This was back home, rednecks with a truck. Yep, good times when you are a walker.
Bears are usually not afraid of humans if they are coming into yards. Never seen one go after chickens but that makes sense. There are outdoor cats here and I always worry about them when I hear the howls and yips closer than usual. One gal in the area walks her dog very late at night, she has more balls than I for taking a puppy for walks after 10pm.
I really hope its just dry weather, but I should drink more teas. Been using my essential oil mix of eucalyptus (which I grew up in a forest of), frankincense, thyme, peppermint, and camphor. Made that for when I had sinus issues more sever due to mold. Works really well though.
Never had a problem with bears until all these people started moving in and feeding them. Then the bear hunters like to bait them with corn and things and that taught them bad habits too. Used to be simple gruff yell and bangin of a metal pan would run them off. Would see them in the woods and never had a problem. Had more trouble getting run over by a deer than eaten by a bear XD The coyotes are usually too shy here to attack with a human present....but yeah, wouldn't risk little dogs, no.
the rednecks on the otherhand have always been a problem. It's a dead end road here, so I've warning if somebody drives up my valley. I like to hit the woods and watch them pass from behind a screen of leaves, record their license plate on their way out if they're up to no good. If they leave the pavement, they're mine. Ever since the bear hunter incident last Christmas I keep a Flipcam on me. A camera is more powerful than a gun sometimes ;)
dry weather would be easier to get over, true enough. I should drink more tea too, to wore out now to make anything other than a mess. And yeah, that oil mix sounds nice and sounds like it would do the trick.
a eucalyptus forest sounds fun ^^
kinda wish i was a koala right about now anyway.
And best wishes to you and your family.
Now there's an idea. Your fursona looking tough with your gun. Never mess with a tigress, that's for sure. lol
Great to be hearing from you again! =D
have to say the dreams were the best bit....and the ice cream. That was nice ^^
Lol Rawr XD might try a gratuitous gun scene one of these days. My mechanical mess needs practice.
Yes! It must happen!
A good air rifle will take out coyotes. Especially the .22 cal. Benjis are lovely IMHO.
Haven't had to deal with a bear but a 120 decibel boat horn will do the trick along with skunk spray. That will startle and deter most. The few prospectors I know have recommended a noisemaker like a fire cracker. Burning gunpowder and noise...
Hope your garden improves or make some greenhouses to help the plants.
All the best to you.
And Thankies, will try.
and a get well soon to you and your parents, too. ^^
Hope so too.
