That's horrible. People are sick... If I were you, I would carry a concealed gun (legally, assuming the government in your area isn't racist). And of course know how to use it well. Might also consider security cameras (inconspicuous ones).

We got some threats directed at us tonight so we all have whatever weapons we know how to handle next to our beds along with emergency cell phones that don't run on a specific service and instantly call 911 when used (my late trucker grandmother bought them).

What the actual fuck, you were threatened by someone now? That's something that could probably be reported to police, though they likely won't do anything. But threats of physical harm is considered assault.

The police are actually helping now that threats to our safety is involved. There's a patrol going by our house. Neighbors are also keeping vigilante. There's a suspect so at least there's that. And he IS connected to the things above involving my siblings (bullying and part of jumping my step brother) and he apparently has a truck that matches the description of the one that tried to run me over. He's also bragged about and shown off a shotgun to the other trouble making teens in the area. So... Hopefully it's just this kid.

I also didn't know it until late last night, but the kid's dad spent time in prison for vehicular manslaughter when he chased a woman into a field with his truck and ran her over. He also was caught shooting livestock. This makes me kind of hopeful that the kid did it, will confess, and then they'll go from there deciding a punishment.

HOW fucking come police can do NOTHING?! I don't get it. It was shot and from the gun! The MUST do something! The could MATCH the caliber of the bullet of the gun and freaking SEE that it was not YOU who shot him. For me it does sounds like a really fishy shit.

Plus, I don't want to make you paranoid, but it indeed sounds like someone is after you or your family in total. Stay safe and I'd really advise to carry a gun with you (since it looks like it's legal in your area). All of your faily members.

It's a shotgun. Shotguns can't be ballistically matched because they fire shot, not bullets. That's the big problem, that's why it can't be proven that Seiluna's family didn't kill their bull.

Like HowlingWolven said, they can't match the exact weapon to the projectile since it scatters. We do have a patrol here on out road at least for the next week since we received some threats this evening. We're taking precautions too. If someone is caught they'll have to financially compensate in addition to a few years in jail if not prison after the threats.

We actually think this person is focused in on our family because he goes to school with my siblings. There's a family history of violence with this guy's dad doing similar things like running over a woman intentionally and shooting cattle himself. So it's a "like father like son" theory since he's for sure involved in half of the things listed above: he jumped my step brother and bullies my sister at school. He also drives a truck pretty much identical to the one that tried to run me over. But I don't think anyone is aware that I'm a furry except my family. And you b didn't offend me. :)

As for jail and prison, jail is for shorter and less severe sentences while prison is for long and severe sentences. The requirement for prison over jail varies by location of the crime, but it's usually pretty bad like harming someone, heavy drug charges (like possession with intent to distribute), etc.

Frankly (pun not intended) that is bullshit. Not only did these fucks come on your property, they also killed a cow. I assume that since you're in a rural area, you do know and do get along with most people in the area at least well enough to, well, know them. This makes me think that whoever's doing this is most likely someone who considers your family an enemy. Maybe the fucker in the pickup that tried to run you down is the same one that killed your bull.

I would plant game cameras around the property, to see what happens at night and whether you can't spot anyone if this happens again. Another thing that I would suggest is get a handgun and the training to use it safely and effectively. And I don't mean something small that you think you could wave in a fight, I mean legitimate self-defense drills. I mean something that you can use a gun as second nature to defend yourself with if these fucks try something more sinister. I don't know whether I would carry (not a proponent of it) personally, but I would definitely consider it at this point.

Actually, we received more sinister threats today. Also, the father of my sister's boyfriend has lived here since he was a kid and he knows a man who had done prison time for vehicular manslaughter, harassment, and cattle mutilation/animal cruelty/property damage charges. He has a son that goes to school with my sister and is one of the main sources of her torment.

The police are supposed to be taking him in for questioning about details his whereabouts in the last 24 hours. The reason they plan to use involves him having made a threat to my sister via text message that since she failed to kill herself that he'll gladly step in and help (she only came forward with this tonight). And guess what? Kid (17yo) has a truck that fits the exact description in the report I made over the attempt to run me over.

I hope it was him and that they do something to effectively keep him away from us if nothing else. I guess it's pretty scary to think that this is anyone else.

That text alone is grounds for charges, probably. And with the history of this man, any uttered death threats are serious, and need to be looked into.

Wrt the kid, have you told the police that his truck matches the description of the fuck that tried to hit'n'run you, and that with the history of his father, you'd like to see if they can do anything at all to bring him in for questioning?

Yeah, it's the kid I'm taking about. They're bringing him in and questioning everything. They have a theory that his dad may be grooming him for violence and we just became the target. I told them about the truck so they're going to ask about that too since neighbors verify that he's on this road, cruising every day despite having no real reason to be on this rural road (the only businesses within 10 miles are liquor stores). And it's likely he'll be stuck with charges unless they're dropped again. I forgot that he was one of the boys involved in jumping my step brother.

Well, let's hope that things improve then. Also, do you still have the video of your brother getting jumped? Do the police (still) have it? If nothing else, he can be put away for assault.

Yes, the police still have it so that should help. And yeah, the text message should help get him charged at least. My sister gave her statement and we were told to get her away from the stress with her mental health history in mind so she's at her grandmother's.
