About Furry Islanders and new Quote of the night
10 years ago
"There's only one difference between a fool and a genius. The latter does not have limits."
So, now that is out of the way, I hope you can check out my new profile info. It's rather polished, but I think I might have forgotten a few stuff. Like it?
Now for the furry islander stuff, it's still a slow development, but I am analyzing every possible other franchise I can to make the most of Furry Islanders and any related "products" that shall accompany it. Ya know, to make what I always wanted to make. Something that mixes every franchise intro one, and lately, I have been trying different ways to use those franchises to create my own, preferably without directly lifting up anything from those franchises(Except Bionicle so far). Ya know, trying to be original and stuff. It's hard if you grew up like me. Which is why I returned a bit to the Fanfic format, making it a Bionicle story of my own. That being said, I have been doing some millitary tech related artistic work. While originally unrelated to Furry Islanders at large, I decided these models will be my first step to give t he Island millitary, and it's oppositions Identifiable hardware. I also brainstormed faction ideas for the Furry Islanders universe, Each being my take on different fictional factions you may have seen in the media. This includes:
-A Predatoric/parasitic monster horde or swarm based on Starcraft's Zerg, Along with R-type's Bydo, Star Fox's Aparoid, Halo's Flood, AvP's Xenomorphs, Warhammer's Tyranids, Master of Orion's Ithkul, "The Thing's overpowered Thing", et cetera, et cetera; I plan to create a species which has the ability to evolve by assimilating dna in many methods, albeit unlike many previous attempts, I shall give this a little break: They will not automatically mean the end of life as we know it, or life in general. At least not how I feel like it. To deal with them will involve a lot of killing, of course. And the things they do will still be terrific. But they will also be useful for the economy and nature if you know how to utilize them. Remember, only if you keep killing them a lot!
- A trans-dimensional, ancient but hyper advanced tyranic empire like Half-Life Combine: So as you may know, the current state of Furry Islanders is "incorporated to the Bionicle Universe" aka leans towards being Bionicle Fanfiction per say. I will give a relation between this empire and the Great Beings, but not now. What I can say tho, this faction will be a unity of enslaved and allied races that do some pretty damn immoral stuff as soon as they find our old Milky Way galaxy. Which causes a reaction from the Great Beings that you shall guess.
- Ancient Civilisation(s) like Moo's orions and Antarans, along others, Halo's Forerunners, precursors, old generation humans and unknown lots of others, etc.; The Great Beings once held the Milky Way Galaxy as their Empire, giving some other civilisations their place under their rule. These civilisations will have wars among them which the Great Beings either endorsed or Punished, or Either Spectated or played the role of Referee in them. The Great Beings would develop to be the most advanced and powerful among them, giving them the right to rule over their own people and the other ancient Civilisations. The latter will also be represented having been more advanced and powerful than present day galactic civilisations.
- A union of present-day alien civilisations in a similar fashion to Halo's Covenant. My take on this trope will still start as hostile to Humanity and it's allies. They will fear the Parasitic Predators (Above) even more as they are told to hate humanity and any other species refusing to join this union.
- George Orwell's 1984-esque warring dystopian factions, or at least one of them will also be represented in the universe Furry Islanders takes place in. By present what would be the "Oceania" of this universe would be a mix of Nazi and Soviet methods, worshipping a controversial leader who loves to force people to love him. Eurasia and Eastasia are also considered to be represented in the Orwellian Planet(s). They will share one important quality about their tech: Firepower and Armor over everything! This will make them expensive.
- A Religious Brotherhood that would be the NOD of the F.I. Bionicle Universe. Now this is going to be hard, since in this one, the Brotherhood must be differentiated from the Orwellian Tyrannies. These guys are just willing to follow their messiah in order to "rebel" against the other factions. Their technology relies on stealth and speed, and are cheap to produce.
- An empire of Cyber-flesh Hybrids in a similar Fashion to Dr. Who's Cybermen and more importantly: Quake's Strogg race. A brutal, Cruel, and very savage army of Fleshbots. A little bit of Spoiler here: They are an early product of my take on the Combine. Albeit they were created by one of the Ancient Civilisations, with Immoral and particularly cruel methods, they dropped from the advanced status due to their barbaric, single- and closed minded thinking.
- A Renegade empire of Automatons, Robots, Androids and simply Droids: Yes, this is self explanatory. Someone built robots and they went renegade on their butt.
- An empire that equals a Falanster of sorts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phalanst%C3%A8re . There is a hungarian take on the world, but it's a very sad one.
- Tribal but Advanced Alien Empire in the fashion of the Protoss. Yea, self explanatory. They use lots of robotics to support their tribalized lives. At best they emerge to the level of an Intergalactic Aztec or Egyptian empire. However, they are also Psionics.
- An Earth Based Human Centered Faction, in the manners of GDI, UPL/UED, UNSC, Space Corps, Starship Troopers' Federation, etch... Yea, also self explanatory, but the Political Systems may Vary.
- Independent Human Colonies, that broke from the Latter, but did not Join any other faction already mentioned. Well, try to guess how many different variations an be made out of these.
As for the modelling, I am currently practicing millitary vehicles. Models I made so far:
- Main Battle Walker (GDI Titan).
- VTOL Aircraft (GDI Orca)
- Heavy Tank (GDI Mammoth)
- Transformable Starfighter (Star Fox Arwing)
- Four wheeled Scout/ Light Tactical Vehicle (Humvee, pretty commonplace)
Remember, these are for practice. I may take these and use them as a basis on my take on them.
I also plan to make a Mobile Construction Vehicle, a standard main battle tank, a Goliath Walker model, and hell knows what else comes to mind.
Let's return to the Island itself. What's the Status Quo there? What's their relationship with the Earth-centric faction? What set's them apart Within Earth Itself? Currently, The Island of Visper-Nui is home to it's unique nation, consisting of Both Matoran and Human population. Technology is Highly Advanced, but politics is yet undecided. For some time, I considered giving the Tempress a leading role, but I figured She's needed as a Spiritual Leader more than being pressured in Politics. There is a few possible ways you may see the moment you enter the world of my Bionicle. Currently , I may introduce Visper Nui as a modern medieval collective of different kingdoms with each kingdom represented by a Royal Leader or couple/Ruling harem (King/Queen, Prince/Princess). However, The united Islander Guard, The Forest Watchdogs (Terran Toa Team), and even the Reindeer Spec-Ops (Other Terran Toa Team) may need to be a bit calibrated for this status. Maybe the Toa teams will be independent from the cause of any Kingdom, while the Guard will emerge as a Union of the armies the Kingdom possesses. Maybe it will be united in the first place. TSL, a corporation that has it's business Turf on Visper-Nui, however, seems simple. It will be neutral to the Knigdoms, offering them all common transportation and Entertainment alike. The Police it bough years ago will also be kept in a state of "Nothing more than Entertainment Tools" in this Universe, making it a possibility to have a Racing Game that takes place in Visper Nui. This also means that Trains can travel Between kingdoms, transporting Visitors and Travellers, Adventurers between the different territories. The TSL Company remains the way it is, that's to say: An enigmatic company with highly controversial treatment to racing, but provides fair transportation, and a company that some see as evil, and others see as good, or indifferent. Another Company, interested in Scientific Research is also planned which is unaffected by the Kingdoms. Another way is to make each Wahi a land of many different "Groups" led by a Grand Prince (In the Hungarian Sense, where the Grand Prince was the ruler of Hungary), each group being overwatched by a Jarl from the Elemental Cities, Which all report to Empire City, the Capital of the Whole Island. Oh wait, the Kingdoms would need to report to Empire City too, maybe.
- There is another alternative, which involves Mata-Nui as the king of the Whole Island, ruling over it's people with his Ruling Harem and a Parliament. Just an idea that recently popped into my head. While it may not be very likely, the idea of seeing Mata-Nui have become a human and welcome the viewer into a land he and his acquired harem rules. The problem with this is it's effect on my original plans, which involves him still stuck in the Kanohi Ignika, and upon gaining a human body, freeing him from the mask, He would need to overcome the traumatic event that took place by the end of Bionicle. so I give this a consideration. Sorry if it happens to be a Spoiler.
The idea of Houses still exists within my mind. What will be their fate depends on how they suit Visper Nui's politics. Remember House Anubis, House Elite, House Kalamari and the House of the Police, the latter of which may end up being cut.
Because this is a Bionicle fanfic currently, it is important to say a few words about the Bionicles themselves, starting with the Matoran, the Techno Organic race of humanoids that mysteriously came to Earth, meeting the Humans as soon as they discover the anomalously formed Island. They are workaholic and as such, a great reinforcement to the human workers everywhere. This and the use of robotic additions to the workforce may happen to cause a slight relievement to some... I mean SOME humans, who end up being travellers, adventurers, and Chroniclers. The Matoran people may tend to wear masks at all times, but I am thinking about a twist here: They may not need to wear them anymore, as Earth's Athmosphere is rather friendly to them. A Majority of their culture was introduced to their Human allies, and their presence somehow ended up manipulating Human Biology with the elemental properties. The Matoran people lack any organs needed for natural reproduction, and instead reproduce by means of cloning, which never ends up making a copy of the matoran individual, but creates a new, unique Matoran. They will still appear somewhat robotic, but with a reasonable anatomy.
The next in line shall be the Rahkshi. Their past efforts to protect Makuta Teridax failed, and with the Master away for millenias maybe, some changes had to be made in their lineup. From now on, Rhakshis will be simplified and barely any magical/psionic powers will be given to any of them, with few possible exceptions, to create a "Cheaper" culture to their millitia. They appear to be able to multiply, probably in a similar method the Matoran do. The rahkshi will replace their traditional staff based combat with guns and launchers, making a millitia similar to any other Sapient Species. They are one of the many species that unite under a collective in service of the Makuta who they await with great welcoming hands.
The Skakdi form the brute level of the Collective's army. Heavy weapons, Barbaric attitude, nothing else needed. What they have much of in firepower and mass, is sadly lacking in Brains tho. They may not need it anyways.
Also from the Collective of Makuta comes the Skrall, who decided that Space Travel may benefit them more than Staying in Spherus Magna, albeit they cadged every ride they could sneak into. Freaking Free-Riders! Their position in the Collective is similar to the Jackals in halo's Covenant.
The Vortixx may also appear on Visper Nui, with chances that some of their members may end up serving in the Collective. However, I have not yet decided their role in the Collective's armada.
On the other hand, There is a specific Dark Hunter Krekka whose Species could fit into the Collective as a Heavier-Than-Skakdi Monster Weapon specialistic Guard.
In fields of combat, The Barraki leads the collective's forces into battle. Because they are Warlords anyways. Although I only know their mutated forms, and I heard they were reverted into their "normal" but unseen look since their introduction.
All we need now is a Grunt, which may need to be invented in the mean time. Sidorak's species may end up within the Politics of the Collective, which has one problem: They have no LAND!!! Or maybe they do in the underground world called "The Maze". I will decide...
Separate from the Collective are the Skull skeletons from the new Bionicle line, that would appear as some undead-esque Matoran Skeleton thingies, or just simply a bone like mutation of matoran that went barbaric to the point of aggression. It wages war against everything and everyone it meets. And no reasoning is possible. I also think to incorporate them into the Parasitic Predator race.
Possibility that Dark Hunters, Agori and Glatorian, Bone Hunters, and any other species I may have forgotten is also leaning towards an unsure positive.
Now that the Sapients are more or less described, while unfinished, let's talk about the Beasts.
The Bohrok will definatelly return. They shall definatelly be a pain in the butt sometimes. The Bahrag will also return to lead them, as well as the Bohrok-Va and the Elite Bohrok-Kal, BUT, again, they may need some changes. The Fohrok may also appear in Furry Islanders. Their new functions may yet to be decided. The Visorak will definatelly incorporate them wherever possible. The Spiders may become independent but prone to ally themselves with certain parties. The Main possibilites include the Bohroks or the Collective.
The Rahi also returns in some form. The Kane-Ra and Muaka species', as well as Tarakava and many others are already decided to return. Additional Rahi may be added. For example, Bionicle did not have any deers... MISTAKE!!! Must make Deer Rahi! NOW!!!! I plan the Rahi to evolve a little flesh onto a protodermis endoskeleton and some protodermis armor. With meat (and in certain cases, Milk, and eggs) to offer, the Rahi may be as beneficial to Mankind as possible. They will be updated with additional species as much as possible.
In addition to Bionicle species, Furry Islanders will include many more lifeforms, including humans, and aliens. And monsters and animals. The possibilities are endless.
Humans themselves serve a central role in Furry Islanders. Well, from the Title "Furry Islanders" you can guess that Humanity will be transformed. You will see many people with animal features attached to them, most commonly animal heads, fur covering their bodies, and tails, as well as some other details you may see in nsfw mode when I make art for that. This follows my tradition, in which the focus are "animal-headed people" doing things and going through adventures, which comes into fruition. As such, The Human members of Visper Nui will be furries, obviously. The possibility to see humans of the previous generation (our generation so to say), also slightly leans towards possible. But for now, let's say some more about the human race on Visper Nui. Warning! This is not the final version yet, so changes may be possible.
As you already know, and it still bears repeating, The Human race has changed by the point of Furry Islanders. Humanity in Visper Nui will be the ruling species of Society, living in a system that's a mix of Feudalism (depending on how politics will be developed for the island), Capitalism, and Socialism. Polygamy will be the main marital form, and many variants are possible, including the whole harem having power over their respective territories, while some harems have an alpha pair of a Patriarch and Matriarch, for example. While the job status will be in a state of Prosperity, Working hours have to be reduced due to the overly high employment, which includes Robots, Matoran and Human population alike. Free time can be spent with more work or slacking, adventuring, etc. Despite this, poverty is generally unknown, and the Currency of Credits will have a high value and low prices of common items, including food items. Health is also managed well by the well trained Doctors whose skills can cure illnesses which are a challenge for today's medics. While the universal technology level is high, Old tech items can also be found where there's use for them. However, keep in mind that most of high tech items are demanded by law to be held in every residence in order to protect life as much as possible. That means, Life as an ammish has been illegalized here. Also, old model cars must be updated with high-tech engines. This means new fuel or energy source, for example. This isn't different with the Visper-Nui millitaries, which are always required to use up to date technology, or are needed to update every outdated tech they possess. Visper-Nui's civilization is mainly built on the base of Utopian Dream, however, There are times of danger and war...
So in short: New Species and new factions will be introduced in Furry Islanders besides Bionicle ones. This is one of the universes where war is an essential part of the story in many periods, but peace is plenty as well, and the political stance of the Island may be decided, but no complete decision is made yet. Well, that's all for now. I can't believe I literally spent all day just to write this... Man, I hope it makes at least a tiny bit of a sense.
