I'm disappointed.
I was trying to talk with one of the artists I had commissioned in the past when this hub bub blew up. I've blocked other names save for my own since it would most likely be flagged under the banner of harassment. But this really bothered me and I'd like you guys' opinion on this
tl;dr Something got mixed up in communication somewhere along the line. But my issue wasn't with the product... it was how I was being treated.
I'm unable to continue communicating with them because, soon after their post, they blocked me. Which is a shame since I really enjoyed their artwork.

Zachrabbit: Is that happening?
Artist: She finished it ages ago and i emailed it out... ill see if she still.has it.
ill need your email again.
Zachrabbit: [Email]
Artist: So [AUTHOR] lost her storage containing the story.
its gone... my only suggestion is if you knew anyone in the picture with you maybe you could ask if they had it.
im 100% sure now that i emailed it off.
Maybe you can look through your emails?
But the story is gone. At least me and [AUTHOR] dont have it anymore.
sorry
Zachrabbit: That's the thing... I've scoured my emails. And I have others that my email forwards to in order to have a copy. And, as far as I know, I have never received that story.
Artist: im sorry theres really nothing i can do about it... i dont remember whos in the picture. and i delete emails/forms after a few months so i dont get to disorganized.
as for the story, it may be better to talk to [AUTHOR] about it.
though keep in mind, she did it for free. the story was freely added by her to help me sell the picture during a hard time finacially. so im not really sure she would be willing to completely rewrite it.
Zachrabbit: I'm not asking for a rewrite. I'm asking for something that was included as a part of the original YCH. And, as far as you've communicated with me, you're unable to complete that YCH due in part to the story being deleted.
I'm disappointed, clearly. This was something I had looked forward to. And I had emailed/noted you on more than one occasion asking about it and, as it was, there always seemed to be something else up.
And now, after months of waiting rather patiently, I'm informed that the very thing I had been waiting for had not only been sent out, but then deleted... all without including me, a member of the winning bid.
A mistake on your part should not cause an emergency on mine.
Of course, you have no reason to actually try and complete this for me, your client. I'm just one individual whom you've never met who trusted you, perhaps unwisely, with fulfilling their end of our agreement.
I don't believe I'll be making that mistake again.
Artist: Im not a writter. I couldnt do anything about it if i wanted to so fuck you, why dont you talk to someone that can DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! like oh idk the ACTUAL WRITTER!
So tired of fuckers like you thinking that i plan this kind shit! Go bug [AUTHOR im not her BOSS! IF YOU PROVIDED THE WRONG EMAIL TO ME THEN OWN UP TO IT! Dont blame others! I provided what I PROMISED IN THE YCH! if you didnt give me the right email to get your file and story and wait around a YEAR to contact me then your just shit outta luck! Her comp fried and i have a NEW one!
Use your brain, i said i emailed it out MONTHS ago! Why on EARTH would i keep the story from months ago that i didnt write and have no interest in! So fucking tired of this shit!
grow up asshole!

And for future reference- don't post any names even if you think it's them. I'm just frustrated and venting here. I'll block any names that are posted for that purpose.
HOWEVER, I also think It's not fair to treat people with insults, and the way you were treated, even when you insisted on the same thing that they couldn't solve for you, was not ok.
You received the YCH drawing from them, that's all they could've done, ok, alright, but they should've never treated you like that even if they got angry or frustrated because you kept asking.
I also think that not being able to deliver what you promise to give equals a horrible customer service (not even counting the way they talked to you later) and that should never be something that defines you as a commissionee.
Lastly I could say they should be able to provide copies of their work, yes .__., but then ... would this not mean the writer involved is the one that was not able to give you what you paid for? Because every commissionee knows they need at least ONE backup of all their works.
TLDR: I think the artist (the one that draws) was right to point you the writer's way, but it was awfully rude from their part to treat you with such disrespect later. Also, they should really learn to have backups, that's like pfff, IMPERATIVE, for any commissionee.
Second, in regards to the email, there has been one and only one email that I give out for those purposes. And that email has not changed. I had archived emails between myself and the artist showing that not only had they known my email but that, through correspondence, could prove it was functioning.
I'm just trying to put this behind me now, though. In the grand scheme of things... this isn't that important.
You do look like a kind person and it's very good to stand up for yourself, not letting others step on you when you know you're right to ... hmmm... demand stuff you're supposed to have gotten.
