Moving to Michigan....??
*****************************************************************
Yup. And I'm moving at the end of the month.
Long story short: Lauren, a good friend of mine & Boyfriend Jon's is moving to Michigan for a job at the end if July. Her husband won't be able to join her for at least 3-4 months due to his own work, so she will otherwise be totally alone as she knows no one in the area apart from her new boss (whom, as far as I know, she's only met once). I will be accompanying her in her move, in part to support her so she won't be making such a huge move alone, and partly because Brooklyn is SERIOUSLY sucking out my soul & I need a serious change in scenery.
The move is likely temporary; I don't anticipate being in the area much longer than 6 months. Boyfriend Jon is also in full support of the move (he's very close to Lauren and even refers to her as a sister), so while he's remaining behind in NY this does NOT mean we have any issues with our relationship. To be honest, I'm treating this as an extended long-distance work excursion for myself and a trip in support of a good friend.
The next week will be spent finishing up ALL of my outstanding commissions from before Anthrocon, and then packing. I will be looking to downsize a lot of the stuff I own - including old comics, art books, tools, and possibly even my large Canon Pixma Pro9000 printer, 11x14 Mustek Scanner, and 12WX Wacom Cintiq - and I will let you guys know when that happens (possibly after the move, to be honest). And if you e-mail me at the end of July to the first week of August, I may be slow to respond. But beyond that, I don't think you will necessarily notice any changes.
My return date isn't set set, but whenever that is it'll likely cause some communications interruptions then as well. But I will let you guys know if/when I know when that is, so you know.
Oh! And I MAY end up popping over to MFF, and possibly MCFC if I'm still in the area at that point (i.e. I get snowed in, haha) But again, that is VERY up in the air at this point. You will be the first to know when I know. :)
Anyway, if you have any questions, or if you want to know about the status of a commission with me, please let me know! ^_^

but I grew up half way between NYC and Boston, so I dislike that corner of the country Anyway *shrugs*
I live across the lake in Wisconsin, and I love it here
I used to find driving relaxing.... then I moved to Brooklyn.
It's all made worse by the fact that Manhattan for me is a 45 minute trainride at best, and my immediate area doesn't have much within walking distance, so I HAVE to drive if I want to get anywhere. Honestly, I need to get out of this city before I have a road rage induced meltdown or something. ;^_^
With any luck my walkthrough video of AC2015 will be done BEFORE you get back!
Be safe on your way over!!
If you happen to find yourself in Ann Arbor, be sure to check out Zingerman's! (assuming $14 sandwiches aren't an issue)
If you need info about the area let me know and I can provide you some contact info
Good luck with the move
Also, if you will be in Michigan by then, the single largest furry meet in Michigan will be on August 15th near the Detroit area. A large all-day barbeque with normally around 150-200 people attending. https://www.facebook.com/events/427291004101148/
Also I co-host the Mid-Week monthly house party meets in Eastpointe [and Grosse Pointe every other month], which is quite close to that "detroit-ish area" you commented on earlier. They are just mild little get togethers with potluck, board games, a dvd player, and a lot of jibber jabbering. Very simple and cheap way to socialize and get out of the house every month.
