... that's a good part, right?
As for way, again it varies from mood! Not really a wrong way to go about it.
- Have you been to any cons?
- Did you have any specific inspiration when you came up with Bomb Jackal?
- I haven't, it's usually been school or work that's gotten in my way. Now that I feel I have been opening up more, I would like to change that at some point!
- No real one specific source of inspiration for him, it was a bunch of nebulous concepts that came together. I've always been a fan of stylized Anubis-esque jackals and non-standard tails. I set out to make a character to tease a friend who likes explosive themed stuff, we bounced some drawings back and forth between us until what you see now!
2. What's the biggest motivator that drives you to draw stuff? What would you tell to others if they were having problems getting back to drawing/have an art-block/are out of it?
3. Oh no, you've been challenged to a duel! Quickly, pick a weapon/object/thing of your choice!
2. Getting the images out of my head! Being able express my thoughts in a visual form and share them with people enjoy them is what I love; getting a reaction out folks when they see something they like is very satisfying! My advice is always and simply, just to draw. I don't mean it as a blow-off answer, It's one of those things that's simple in idea but complicated in execution. For me, when I go a while without drawing anything, trying to get back into it feels clumsy and awkward. So I have to slog through working on drawings I hate, it's not a fun process but it's the most important one! A fear of failure holds one back, being accepting of the fact you're not always going to be doing your best is the way to move forward. It's okay to make mistakes! But anyway yes, the only way to get back to drawing is forge your own motivation, rarely does it occur naturally and no one can make you draw but yourself.
3. I will punch everything and anything, you don't even know. But improvisation/unorthodox weaponry is pretty nifty too.
Uuuh well I have been itching to draw some Rexes from Super Mario World, and Archdemon from the Dragon Warrior/Quest series have never not been fun to draw. Why do I only have to pick two...
Does Chip count? He's got a pretty big booper too.
I have been listening to the Bubsy 3D soundtrack and I like it for some reason
*what songs do you like?
*what songs do you listen to when drawing?
*what songs get you prepared for drawing?
*what songs do you think would be fitting for drawing round things?
*and would you, if you had the time make a nonspecific sketch page for round things?
The following three questions can all be answered the same, most of the time I put on a radio station for background noise. Nolife-radio and Radio Nintendo are usual first choices, sometimes jazz is pretty nice to draw to!
That's usually how I do work! I work on a large canvas and jump from doodle to doodle. Unless you mean round things as more circular in body shapes, those are fun to do and while not my go-to thing to draw I enjoy them all the same.
Seriously man I wanna! Next time you see me on pester me about it. <3
Is there a certain show or webcomic that inspired your artstyle? I dunoo why, but every time I look at your Bombjackal character, it reminds me of Courage the Cowardly Dog.. :F
On that note, Courage is pretty great! Bombjackal didn't really take much from there however I often like to draw paws in the style of that show
