To spot or not to spot?

I am really wanting to work on Tolka's suit revamp but I've got into a conundrum! D: I did not exactly design her revamp with a fursuit in mind apparently. So I need some opinions!
Frankly, charcoal fur is impossible to find, and the only source of it I have found apparently doesn't sell quality fur so I'd rather not waste my money. Sooo I've run across the problem, what to do about her spots? Should I just take them off or attempt to come up with some other fur? I had been debating changing them out or taking them off anyways but I don't want to go with black fur.
What do you guys think?

Unfortunately I don't have an airbrush so I would have to try and drybrush every one if I went that route, but I'm a bit worried about airbrushing longevity because I wash my suit quite a bit (via washing machine) and I don't know if I want to keep up with redoing them all the time. So idk aaa, it's quite the problem.
