Just caught two baby field mice in our apartment. These guys had no fear. We bought a terrarium, food, bedding, nest material, dishes for food and water and a little log. The terrarium is tall and has a locking lid. No escaping for these guys. They seem old enough to be eating solid food as they've already eaten and drank some water. We're calling them Mario and Luigi and they both burrowed in the paper bedding right now.

So adorable. We will take good care of these guys for their short lifespan. Don't lecture about them being wild animals, These little guys were out looking for food and had no instincts for escape or danger. It implies to me that mama abandoned them or died. I doubt they'd survive long in the wild.
