When I saw this article about Mike Gronstal's speech from the floor of the Iowa State Senate about blocking the change to Iowa's constitution and banning gay marriage, it summed up my thoughts.

Our generation doesn't follow the hate. Trust me, I live in California, and saw the hate first hand... Seeing mothers holding up signs reading 'Kill the faggots before they marry!' and the like and shouting, "Hate and bigotry is okay as long as it protects our kids!" sickened me. Personally, i think all people should get married: be they straight, gay, or even poly. If to or more people love each other, whom does it hurt if they get married?

I dunno, it just saddens me that IOWA of all places has more rights for gays than Cali, the home of San Francisco... But, at least our state is legalizing pot. That's at least one small condolence...

But yeah, when Obama's 8 years are up, we need Mike Gronstal to take over. Seriously.
