Megaplex 2015 Recap!
Mudplex 2015 oh man oh man my first ever furcon where to start
Well we had a great time, it was awesome tabling with
leiliaclay and having
zeta-neubourn with us! We got to meet TONS of awesome people, and I got an adorable sketch from
madshy who was SO sweet. Thanks to everyone who found us and took the time to chill! I wanna go again next year, debating making some changes though and trying for an artist alley table (probably not, as even though they're free I can't keep my stuff set up there all 3 days overnight), and I wanna try to get back into traditional art so I can do badges and such for folks while I'm there next time. A lot of people commented that they were surprised I didn't do that, but I'm used to people not really caring about my art and only wanting to see my plushies (I sold almost no prints last year at Comic Con), and I was pleasantly surprised how many people were interested in my original plush designs instead of just fanart!
I was rooted to the table in the den for most of the con, but we got to see the CARE animals and that was awesome. Tiger babby. TIGER BABBY. I loved the reptiles and birds too, really neat. Excited that next year will be at the Embassy Suites, and I am digging the 2016 theme. Hopefully the mud issue will be avoidable next time, I helped push vehicles out of the lot twice while we were there and had no clean clothes to wear left, hahah. It was nice seeing people all working together to help each other out though. That's a rarity most anywhere else.
I'll be listing up the things that didn't sell on my Etsy within a week or so, be on the lookout for plushies and other items here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/PatchworkShark - I'll be starting up an Instagram when I get around to it too, as a lot of folks want to follow me there. I do have Twitter but it's not really very furry specific.
Also, I wanna make a fursuit partial. Badly. No idea when I'll have time/money to even try though, hahah.
Hung out last night at
dracones_salutem's place for his birthday too, had breakfast for dinner, awesome cake, and watched a marathon of Rick and Morty, which I'd never seen before and it was awesome. :P Doing the beach next weekend with a few other furs!
All in all, enjoyed it a lot and hope to see folks again next year!
