My family on my father's side have anger management problems and I used to have a lot of those issues myself when I was younger (what with being bullied and such). At the same time, though, I didn't want all of that anger because my family had shown me where that could lead, so I tried to find healthy ways to express my anger. This was frustrating because I couldn't find anything that worked. Then, someone told me about this myth and I went on to smother my anger until it was essentially gone.
I WILL say that smothering the anger DOES tend to make it go away for me too. But does having it go away mean I'm healthier? Maybe having that anger and expressing it somehow is actually a lot more healthy than not having it at all. I have no clue. Interesting subject for sure. :D
Oh, don't worry about the word vomit. I do that too sometimes. XD
Also, is this that "Stalk the Artist" thing that was going around? I haven't really been reading them but for some reason your title drew me in.
And yep! I keep getting them in my inbox so I was like "what the heck, everyone likes answering questions about themselves so lets do iiiittt!"
*looks up at you* :3
I've always been bad at dealing with anger, too. Truth be told, I'm a pretty angry person. Nobody who's ever met me would use that word to describe me, but there's more to anger than just being prone to fits of rage. Rather than expressing it outwardly, I've always been more prone to directing it inwards upon myself. That's obviously very self-destructive, but I've been taking steps to seize control of my anger and express it in ways that are healthy, and not damaging to myself or others (Unless they truly deserve it).
I'm glad you're working on the anger thing, since I noticed how you'd aim it at yourself a lot and it did seem not healthy at all. :C Actually... you've seemed better there lately too so I think whatever you're doing is helping :D Or at least more healthy
