See? No - I dig that. I like that legitimate artists are utilizing this bizarreness. I think there's a seriously fascinating subculture here and I'd love to see it approached by more academic / real art community sort.

i'm probably not into art as much as you. i particularly dislike most modern art. i like illustration and design (and pre 1940s classics).

Well my taste for modern, or art in general is not really relevant. I was meaning that this individual seems to have more of an actual presence in the "art community" - which lends a remote degree of credence to his content. That is just what I was appreciating...

WOW dude, thanks for sharing! This guy's got something...Do you think he actually has furry roots or he's just tapping into this bizarre culture? It's interesting each of those episodes made sure to include a sexual aspect. Just like you can't get away from that in this community. I don't know, might be a sign he's got a...intimate knowledge of us.

Could also be one of those rare occurrences of a NORMAL fur who's actually making something (mainstream) of his life and ties to this fandom.

i think he's almost definitely coming from the outside. you don't have to go too far to find a (relatively) mainstream article that eventually mentions fursuits and sex in the same sentence; what this guy has done is take this weirdness he's encountered and exploited it, instead of just reacting to it and serving up yet another opinion piece. but i don't think he's into furry any more than in an anthropological sort of observation sense. i think when furries parody furries for other furries, you can usually tell where it's going to go within a few seconds - the old standbys like 'everyone's a wolf or a fox', 'can't pay the rent but saved up for a raccoon-suit', etc, you know the drill. we all know them, but they're incredibly specific and rely on extensive exposure to the fandom, which of course isn't going to work if your audience is not-the-fandom. the video skits make no reference to the suits or even furriness, they come off more like curb your enthusiasm with a surreal visual disconnect thrown in.

Now that you've spelled it out like that I pretty much 100% agree. Good observations and perspective. So much for my optimism ;) Someday there'll be a furry prodigy who'll bring to mainstream light the awesomeness of furry. Maybe it'll come with the Blacksad movie?
