Post Surgery Update
Okay, this could be kind of scrambled but hopefully you guys will understand what I'm trying to say. lol
My tonsillectomy was Monday, August 3rd, at 10:00 am Central US time. I scared the crap out of my nurse because I thought something she said was meant for me. She told my neighbor that after he/she/they got dressed they could sign the paperwork and leave. I thought she was speaking to me so I got up and got entirely dressed (with my IV still attached, I just threaded it through arm holes). She jumped when she saw me dressed and standing because it was 11:15 and they had barely been finished with surgery half an hour. Sooo, I still have a high metabolism for anesthesia. xD
My metabolism is also a bit too high for my pain meds as they wear off at hour 4, not 6 like they're supposed to. But I'm so afraid of opioid dependency that I won't dare ask for a higher dose.
I'm okay though. They did say that it will likely take me 2 weeks rather than 7-10 days for me to recover because of how large my tonsils were and how large the incisions had to be in turn.
It's day 4 (I think lol) so I'll try to update every couple of days. At this point, I'm mainly sleeping though, so not much to say really.
Sore, but okay, and trying to stay super hydrated because that's apparently the key to healing quickly after a tonsillectomy (well, anything really) lol
Have a great week, guys!

But I'm glad you are alright. Just remember to keep yourself safe while you recover. *fox huggles*
