Serious Portable Hard Drive Issue
For those who don't follow my tumblr I mentioned that I'm currently having a serious issue involving my portable hard drive. I'm going to copy and past my latest post about it for you guys to read up what's going on.
What really sucks about this is that I’m not sure which commissions, or art in general, may have been affected badly by this. I think for the most part all of the finished commissions have been uploaded with the exception for one. Some of the others I haven’t started yet so I’m not worried about those being an issue. But unfortunately that one commission I’ve been working on this week may be lost. That’s a lot of progress just down the drain if I can’t recover these files. The other artwork that may be affected are a lot of the personal ones people have seen me streamed but never finished. The LoZ one or the one with my characters as Inklings for example.
I had no way of backing these files up because that portable hard drive was my only one. I hadn’t saved any art files to my SSD because I was told it’s not a good idea to save files like that onto there. I had plan on buying another portable hard drive a while back but with so many set backs happening where I need to replace things or paying bills with the little money I have. Even worse when you think you have a break from the bad and purchase something for yourself only to have this kind of shit happen soon afterwards.
I’m already going to be pretty busy this month. I got some Patreon stuff I need to work on plus a few commissions. One of them is even a big project for a website. I was even able to break the $200 milestone on my Patreon so more Pure comics will happen. I have a lot on my mind right now and this hard drive issue isn’t helping.

Had something similar happen its odd how things fail just as an unexpected bill comes through the door..... As for the SSD its perfectly fine to store any kind of file on it the problem is allot of people pass around misinformation based on incorrect information they have read somewhere and part of that is they think SSDs are fragile like egg shells or that if you use them for heavy read write applications they will die in a matter of months. Reality is they are designed to be used and last allot longer than people think

OP
I was told that re-writable files were bad to have on there so those were the ones I tried avoiding to put on it. I'll try to save any drawings I'm doing now to my ipod, which has somehow survived more than 8 or so years. And I'll try to save backups of my art on the SSD as well until I can get a new portable or external HD.
