How about sending these announcements to the list of emails you have on file? If you had done this instead of posting your announcements here, I would have been able to get a room in the first place. Not everyone keeps up with FA journals.

Sorry to hear that. We try to reach everyone as much as possible by posting announcements to FA, FaceBook, and Twitter. Not everyone can keep up with their email, or other forms like Twitter however. We do appreciate your feedback and will let you know when we get a mailing list setup.

Just saying... Email is how virtually every other business communicates with its customers. I can't even go to the con this year because I didn't get a room because I had to be watching the FA journals to see it. And I'm not going to pander for floor space from random manchildren that I don't know on the forums, I'd rather just not go at all at that point. I regularly nuke my journals because they are filled with nothing but emo posts, stream spam, etc. Email on the other hand, is extensible with the user able to write filters, scripts, and what not to make sure that they do not miss announcements if they are expecting it. I can't do that on FA so your comparison was unwarranted.

Oh, when you do get that email list set up, please remember to add an unsubscribe link on it since this con might be on my "never" list by then.

We're in 2015. "Not everyone can keep up with their email" is a ridiculous statement, especially when FA is presented as a suitable alternative. People who are interested in being a productive member of society keep up with email, because it is the most efficient and most universal means of communication available today. FA is not a universal medium of communication, it's a niche site. And it's one that isn't even so relevant to the furry fandom anymore. Many of us fully participate in the furry community, and even operate a furry business or take commissions without having a presence on FA.
