Do 120 Hz, 8-bit, 24" monitors actually exist?

I doubt it. They use cheap TN panels with 6-bits per channel for most monitors, and 120 Hz stuff is aimed at gamers and movie enthusiasts, not artists... so I can't imagine that they'd make high-quality ones right now. Plus, a 120 Hz 1920x1200 display would take all the bandwidth offered by a dual-link DVI cable, so with current tech we're not going to see anything bigger than 24" w/ 120 Hz :<

I started in middle school, which was when I was 9 years old.

Thing is, my eyesight took a severe nosedive from there.

First started about 1.0 lenses, and now I'm at 4.5/4.25 lenses, severely nearsighted, minor astigmatisms in both eyes...

i got -3.50 -3.25 (but tests are 1 eyar old so propobly im around + -0.25 on both)

without my glasses we could say im blind

Mine's worse. My prescription is almost a year old now.

My eyes have never improved, only worsened. At this rate, I could be declared legally blind by the age of 30.

I love my monitor, but I really wish it could go beyond 70 Hz; however, 120 Hz does sound absolutely fantastic. One of these days, I'll have to pick up a new monitor: is there a specific brand you recommend?

I don't know much about monitors ._. Besides, there's no one-size-fits-all for good colors and fast refreshes.

my laptop is set for 60hz, but when i put that on my old flatscreen CRT it flickers so i kick the monitor to 70hz and its fine

Yeah, you do need higher for CRTs, for a different reason though.

That's because the image on the screen fades in between refreshes on a CRT, but not on an LCD.

Seeing heavy boosts in framerate and then looking at a screen that's incapable of popping out that same rate. Makes me feel weird and distorted >.>

Oh. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. There are all sorts of things you can do to fuck with your senses which are weird like that, ignoring drugs of course. Take a picture and make two copies--a grayscale version, and then one with negated colors. Look at the negated color one for a while and then switch instantly to the grayscale. The colors will appear to be how they normally are, before it fades to gray. Very creepy.

I will certainly be checking out high refresh rate monitors over the summer. I'm planning to build a new beast PC since my old beast PC is 3 years old and it kinda shit x3 so it'll be an excuse to get a new monitor.

Cool, just be careful and make sure that the other specs of the monitor are satisfactory to you! I didn't realize how obvious the dithering (speckles of different colors) to simulate the colors would be until I owned it.

Ah, I thought so, I've been thinking about getting one actually. I'm really starting to like the tearing. Monitors have to start keeping up with the graphics cards pretty soon.
