tumblr hosts the segment of the internet that takes the feminism and gender issues to the extreme.
They also have coordinated doxxing and or shaming of people whom don't use, or accidentally misused these terms and try to get them fired or their addresses posted online over internet transgressions to their feelings/worldview/politics/etc.

I agree with Roebuck. Why would anyone not use one sex or the other? [I've seen some silly stuff on tumblr and the Real Freaks are alive on there. One of my best friends is asexual, but she identifies as a her which is exactly what I was getting at.

This just more solidifies my point. What you are talking about is fantasy and trust me it would Never fly on a job application or tax form.
From what I've seen, this craziness about identifying as something other than the sex, or even crazier the species, you were born as is nothing more than fantasy. If someone identifies as something other than human all it does is make the job interviewer, census taker, or whatever other individual that the person that is being told the person is anything besides male or female that they are crazy or need serious mental help.

I use my (biological) sex with my doc, I don't think it's needed anywhere else. It's as arbitrary as requiring one to know someone's blood type before you can properly address them. My thinking is that since gender roles are silly and arbitrary anyway, why not go all out with it?

Fuckin hell... I'm just trying to describe someone's goodie parts not describe the different catalytic converters in different brands of commercial cars for fuck sakes. The only documents that get that spesific with describing something are engineering and medical documents, but they're just trying to describe the exact effects on lets say abrieva, on certain kinds of patients. I once found someone who identifies as a fairy and who wants you to use fairy pronouns when talking about them! I think it was like fae, faeself or some shit like that. And they were completely serious about it.
I am all for accepting what people identify as, but naturally Tumblr has to take it to the extreme.

Tumblr, needlessly complicating and shaming the lives of the many for the wants(not even needs) of the few.

They touch on some good issues once in a while, they make good and reasonable points once in a blue moon, but 99.99% of the time they're talkin' out their asses and don't at all understand how the world really works.

Not gonna lie though, it would be nice to have a simple and sane gender-neutral pronoun just for the sake of writing. People get gripey about using They/Them/Their too often in writing but if you're trying to write gender-neutrally it's unavoidable. >_>;

*laughs* heheh x3 was just being sarcastic on how many "declensions" sexuality happen to have judged by how MANY subgenders you found on the web,,since this argument CONCERNS me quite a lot (tho,not AS MUCH as it concerned me in the past) and in my opinion, i can pretty much say we just crossed the boundary with insanity: it is okay wanting to know EVERYTHING about your inner-sexual world, but going as far as creating A GENDER FOR EVERY THOUGHT you make is just a bit too much for me...

but then again...as i implied up here using Finnish as a compare...we will end up having 14 GENDERS FOR EVERY PERSON!
