Think Starship Troopers (the book not the movies) Powered armor suits!
personally, I prefer the HULC over the Cyberdyne HAL

Cybertech is a simile of cybernetics
WIKI defines cybernetics thus: Cybernetics is preeminent when the system under scrutiny is involved in a closed signal loop, where action by the system in an environment causes some change in the environment and that change is manifest to the system via information / feedback that causes the system to adapt to new conditions: the system changes its behaviour. This "circular causal" relationship is necessary and sufficient for a cybernetic perspective.

and is generally used to refer to human/machine interaction, but not limited to that, of course.
Bio-feedback loop through a machine such as the HULC would be another good reference for it, or the LUKE Arm by the Segway inventor Dean Kamen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0_mLumx-6Y)
I think human have an endless ability to save theirselves, and solve their problems through their intelligence. Or do things that are really stupid and destroy their selves.
