Heh, for once I agree with VJ that he got out of hand.

There's just an obvious disconnect between what the admins want and what the regular contributors want. You're definitely more attuned to the latter.

As I've said, I've been mostly a watcher of all this. I neither have the artistic talent to draw or writing ablity to make my own characters. But I've always love the work you and the many, many, MANY others do. I many not know all the nitty gritty details, but I've always agreed with your view point. It's dangerous for any one person to have that level of power in this kind of thing. Unless they are the one that created it. In my view, there's only one person that should have any kind of final word with this thing: EL. He's the George Lucas of this thing. People are always free to add to it's richness with their characters and stories. But if there's a problem, (and I mean a BIG problem), he should be the one with the big rubber 'NO' stamp. Now, I'm sure Melfice is a nice person, and I'm not going to try to argue that point. But if people are complaining about your action to this extent, you shouldn't be trying to defend yourself. It doesn't matter if you think you're right, that's NOT what you do. What you SHOULD do is apologize, and ask the PEOPLE how you can make it up to them and make things better. Get the opinons of EVERYONE, and respect their wishes. That is a far smarter option. And if that means getting rid of an unwanted character, then guess what? They need to get the big shiny axe o' life. It's hard to do sometimes, but if a character serves no purpose, it has to be done. Frankly, I feel like you've kept the true spirit of this thing formost in your mind. But have you thought of taking that place for yourself? I'm sure you could come up with a decent princapal, one that you won't use for your own benifit.

I considered it, I have an idea for such. But there's a better one on the design books that fits the bill, just a matter of getting there.

I hope so. This thing has just gotten out of hand. You can do a group community without this sorta thing. Look at Extintioners. Yes, EL created it, perfected it, and put it on the market. But since then, people added to it. The GSIF, your Alpha Strike, Distortion, L.A.S.S.T., Andorozon, and even Season 2. These were all fan made works that rose to the level the orginal works set, with the only trouble happening being that goddamn hacker. This kinda thing CAN be done. That it's reached this point is insane.

Sadly it's what happens when egos run around unchecked, hopefully that's been taken care of now, it's just a matter of clean up, repair, and getting back to where the PCA was and can be again.
