Bawrk!
So, an opportunity has fallen across my lap. One of my best friends from high-school has moved to Denver, Colorado and is singing high praises of the area. He has promised me a starting job working armed security at 20$ an hour and will rent me a room for 250$ a month. The job is at night too, which is good, since I've been working third shift the past two years. Apparently they are pretty desperate for people there. I am pretty tempted to go, the pros seem to outweigh the cons.
Pros:
-RMFC is in Denver, so there should be a furry community for me to play with, the people my friend is living with apparently know the con chair for RMFC o.O
-Inital Job and Place to live is already secured, with reliable roommate
-There are tons of medical tech jobs out there from what I've seen on job search sites and pay is competitive with what I make now
-I don't own much, I could pack my life into my car and drive there alone
-Tons and tons of virgin hiking territory for me to explore, hello rocky mountians <3333
-Snow,snow,snowsnwnosnwosnownosnowsnow
Cons:
-Moving is a big hassle
-I have great job and benefits right now, the security job is 32 hours a week with unlimited overtime but no benefits
-Will be 24 hours away from family instead of 2 hours
-Leaving all my fuzzy NC friends is a bummer
In the long term, I've heard land out there is fairly cheap, I could pursue a dream of building my own little house in the woods which would be awesome. I am pretty darn excited about the idea, but I will wait a while and see how I feel after the initial excitement wears off. Its definitely a chance to take, risk doesn't seem too high though. Its a big world out there and I should see more of it for sure. Ive talked it over with some friends and they all encourage me to go for it.
Any ideas fuzzies?

I should be at IFC next year. ^^
You will?! :D Yay again!! It's nice I can finally talk to you, too XP Was scared to say something cause I didn't think you'd remember... >.< Sorry, I'm rambling...
EDIT: (Oops...I thought this was gonna be a response, not a whole new comment... >.>)
However... Based on what you said, I don't know this friend of yours, but just because someone says you have a job, doesn't mean squat until you sign the papers. You don't want to move out there and find that the job has been filled by someone else. Now you're stuck. So if this is something you really want. I would contact this company first and get the job with a start-date a few weeks from now. This way you can plan to leave your current employment and have new employment already lined up. Especially since you don't have to worry about a place to live.
Now, your friend may be the manager and the one giving you the position, in which case the above paragraph is mute, I don't know.
Denver is expensive but since you're paying only 250 for rent, the money saved in that alone I think will off-set the expense.
Other than that, that was really the only red-flag I saw in your pros and cons and I thing the pros are indeed better. Take care of that red-flag and I say, go for it.
Here's a con you missed.. Relay for Life in April, although I guess you could organize your own team out there..

The closest I could find to NC for comparison was Atlanta
