This is something that has been happening to me for a long time now and only recently has it started to really bother me. People have been under the impression that because they aren't getting responses from skilled artists or writers that the next step is to come to me to get to them simply because I am on a first name basis with said artist or writer.
I am more than willing to promote and spread the word of my friends and their artistic/writing skills, but I am not your goddamn VIP pass to get art from your desired source. If they're not responding to you, then I trust them that it's a good reason or they're simply too busy and have other things on their agenda, or maybe just aren't open.
Honestly the more I think about it as I write this journal the more it pisses me off... so don't ask me to be your messenger boy. If you have you know who you are, and I'm simply giving you a warning, not looking for apologies.
I should be clear that I don't mind talking about my friends and their work and such, just don't go into the topic expecting me to do something for you as a "oh by the way, can you help me get a pic/story from him/her?"

Also I am sorry to hear, this sort of pimping n such has been going on for some time now, it seems that people forgot what it means to earn viewers or create relationships. They like to use people to get to the other people they really want to get in contact with. I know how it feels had a few that tried to do the same with me but stopped them dead in their tracks. Now drink that mango soda!
<w< >w> just being friends is not that hard, at least I hope so... but people trying to get to know you because of shady reasons is just a really bad thing, that gets one's spirit down.
Yeah it can get quite aggravating to been seen as a means to an end like that.

I do hope peeps will take this in consideration and respect your time.
Which isn't a bad thing it just means you keep certain people in your inner circle but in the eyes of others it could come across as you almost preferring having artist friends if people find it hard to get a hold of them but 'you can with little difficulty'
Not saying you do as I've seen similar situations several times.
