New website for artists and buyers looking for commissions!
As a side project,
kishfox and I (mostly him) have been working on a new website to help buyers find artists to do their commissions and vice versa. Judging from all the questions I get from people asking where they can find artists open for commissions, it seemed like a service that was needed ;)
The idea is to make The process as convenient as possible for both parties. Interested buyers can place offers for what they're looking for, style, content, price range, etc... which can be browsed by artists looking for work. And on their side, artists can do the same thing; post commission offers with information about their style, what they'll do, price range, etc...
There's also a feedback system, where you can rate and leave reviews based on the transaction.
Please check it out! The URL is http://www.commissionr.net It's free to create an account. We don't have many users yet, since the site just went live, but we're hoping to get enough people using it soon to make it worthwhile =)
I'm personally still booked up for commissions, but once I'm free, I'll be offering new commissions through that site.
We're still making improvements, so if you have any suggestions or issues, please let Kish know.
Thanks and enjoy!

** server can't find http:www.commissionr.net: NXDOMAIN
follow this guide. I hope it helps you out!
I'll work with you until it's fixed >.<
Automatically put it back as a default site both places. ( also I dont currently have an active skype )
I'm trying to contact you via skype.
No link to the artist's sites. There was nothing in the add http://commissionr.net/listings/15-.....racter-sketch/ to give me a clue what their subject matter, skill level or limitations are.
I'm planning on including the following:
Site / FA page for artist's gallery... example of work etc.
Commissionr.net User tag with "Reply to this ad" link
...
Anything else you'd suggest would be very helpful!
also a note, the $15 single character sketch" image, is an image I threw together. Artists can upload a piece of artwork representative of what they are offering in lieu of that thumbnail
A place to link the artist's FAQ/TOS would also be useful. It will save artists fielding questions they've already answered.
In fact, I'm going to be setting hte forums up tonight, so I have a bug tracker / report area :P
Hotmail / Live/ MSN drops my e-mails for some reason. No other web mail provider does this, so if you used an @msn, @outlook, @hotmail, live etc e-mail, please reply to this comment so I can activate your account manually.
This doesn't have to cost you anything if you e.g. use StartSSL.
Especially since this is going to be a site resulting in commissions (= money), it's important to have this in place asap.
I'm looking into repairing the issue.
just curious, when I registered I had a profile image already set. Where did it come from? ^^;
I also have suggestions for Listing categories to refine searches, I can post that in the suggestions forum right?
Also, If you could give me a screen shot of what you mean by alreaedy having an avatar, I can see what happened and why
great idea though!
For example: Taurin has no problem filling his commission slots consistently via traditional means. You, and thousands others like you, find it much more difficult than that. A service like commissionr gives you a platform upon which to go in and find connections with buyers who mightn't have heard of you before! It's all about exposure :3
