Climb or Die

Hey everyone. I realized it's been forever since I posted anything in this journal so I thought I'd take a moment to type about how amazeballs my life has gotten. Over the last five years I've worked at Blizzard, a catering company, the MMO TERA, a sleazy tech support hotline, Blizzard again, Dell, the Home Depot (tech support), the Elder Scrolls Online, one of the top ten brokerage firms in the country, and finally a growing financial software company. I've gone from living in a two story apartment with a pair of babyfurs (not always as fun as you'd think), to living with my soul crushing parents in Houston, to moving back to Austin in my own shoe-box sized studio apartment and am now living in a roomy, decently priced one-bedroom apartment in my favorite part of town with a whiny but lovable black cat.
When I first came to Austin I thought I was living the dream, then I hit rock bottom and thought of ending it all, then I worked my way back to the city I love and have achieved greater financial and career success than I thought was possible for me. I look around my living room from the state-of-the-art laptop I got for free with my job, I see a mounted flatscreen lcd tv and four consoles I PAID FOR MYSELF, a wall covered in signed and framed posters from the concerts I've gone to, shelves filled with my favorite books and board games, and, of course, my cat sleeping on my feet. You can call me materialistic if you want but these items are trophies, reminders of how far I've gotten from where I was four years ago. So, to all you guys out there who think they will never crawl out of the miserable pit of misfortune and poverty that they somehow fell into I have this to say: GET. CLIMBING. And even if you fall KEEP CLIMBING. Because the only choice you have other than climbing is to lay there. Just lay there and wait to die.
CLIMB <--> DIE
Your ONLY options.
So anywho maybe I'll post more here in the future if the mood strikes me. For now though I'm gonna spoil my cat with pettings and nuzzles.
