New job opprotunity, best case scenario hosting a web show
16 years ago
I had a meeting with the Founder and CEO of www.LAGtv.com and it went quite well. He likes me and would like to bring me aboard. Here is the rub. They have just moved their operation to LA from the east coast and are currently restructuring and rebuilding. They have a studio setup, set built, several hundred K in equipment and a pocket full of dreams. But as they are currently trying to line up investors everybody is working pro-bono and the founder is currently funding everything out of pocket. They say that they have some people interested in investing and funding the operation lined up for meetings though.
So here is what I'm wondering and would like some input on before I finally take the leap. Should I work for this up and coming game TV network for a month or two for free and then possibly get taken on as a full paid employee as soon as funding comes through? Best case scenario funding happens and I get a great gig and become a web personality of some sort. Worst case everything falls flat and I lose a couple months of my life. But even then it would be something nice to put on a resume right? I have the savings to support myself for the foreseeable future.
