Random Thoughts -- Yee!
So, I've had a bit of a hiatus for awhile. No judgement, apart from me loathing how trigger happy and neck deep in unattractive vice most of the people I used to know where. All of those pseudo-social blowhards and popufurs, people whose entire cult of personality revolved around them robbing others of both place and time all while subsisting on another persons displacement. Remind me, what made them likable? And on that, I've since come to rebuke in me this need to please those sorts of people. Yes, those people. And I'll be honest, those are some damn hard demons to pry out of your skull.
Anyway, my muse is now a website called less wrong, which if you don't know much about, it details anything and everything wrong with how people argue. In most cases, people mistake good analytical skills and critical thinking with being boring, pompous, and proper -- I'm not surprised. People would rather make a convincing argument than a rational one. As long as the idiot jesters of the world can be entertaining and short worded, I suppose, than it's tits-cock for the rest of us. I mention this only as a response to my hiatus introductory above.
So, less on that, more on me. I've been playing Destiny for a long time and have really come to enjoy the slot machine that is this game. Pull a lever, get lucky, watch the spill of coins you'll never be smart enough to invest in! I've never been more enthralled with the legacy of disappointment and shortcomings out of any game, and I do mean enthralled -- I am genuinely entertained by this game and it's short comings. They're adorable, hinting at the promise of some sort of content drop that would reinvigorate this old bitch back into the fucking spirit.
I love the story, too bad it's not in the game. I love the characters, too bad there aren't any. I love the multiplayer, and the open-to-play-with-friends single player; the gun play is sick, and very addicting.
However what Destiny lacks is a real sense of self. For example, it's loaded to the brim with content. Hundreds upon hundreds of armor designs, shaders, weapons, gear, and about the only thing we get is what the developers want us to use for either Year 1, or Year 2. In order to diversify it up, they should allow us to pick whatever armor premutation we want, bust our asses off to level it up, and than, create some arbitrarily rewarding system where whatever armor it is we have, we can "magically" make it legendary, or exotic.
Any idea is better than no idea, and I worry sometimes that Bungie is losing on that front. Anyway, figured I'd post an update. There will be more of me soon, rest assured.
