drawn asks would be okay, but even a journal where we could ask questions of your characters in a written format?
maybe warmup drawings that show a little bit of their daily life or events you want to have happen to them. create even a little spark of a story and people will love it!
whatever you decide, have fun with it!

I think drawn asks add a lot of personality to characters. Short comics as well~ Really, the more art with 'personality', the more personality they have!

I'm definitely leaning towards doing drawn asks, I'm gonna start thinking of ideas for tiny like.. two panel comics too. thanks so much for the suggestions <3

Something that could be interesting (tho I agree that drawn asks/written answers/comic stuff is a really good way to get to know characters) could be doing something like an age meme? or something where you show them at 3/4 different stages of their life maybe w/ a quick explanation for each ! (or more if you're up to it!)

When I'm developing a character, I usually go through a bunch of situational prompts and ask myself how they'd react or behave. Sometimes I base it on just how they look, what they like or other things.

You could always try different moods or a new setting. Story boarding is always fun for those types of character development. Or you could try animating?

maybe them hanging out, each showing their own personality?

i like seeing characters just doing random every-day tasks (like them cooking and if they're good or bad at it, things like that) :D

Usually having them in 'normal' situations helps add character... doing something they enjoy or moments from their life.

What comes to mind are some of the sketches and doodles by

He has some good examples with his cast like their jobs, hobbies, off hours, and so on.

Draw your characters doing what they do. Give them some likes, dislikes, hates, loves, stresses, relaxing, and so forth. Give them a soul. Think about how much loose change they have in their pocket.

Look at character memes online for ideas for your characters.

a few different segments of "i was really ___ when ____ happened" like, stressed when the dishwasher broke
