The Tumblr community once again gives everyone reasons to not like Tumblr because of stuff like this. I don't know how this is going to sound... but I'm not even surprised by stuff like this anymore. The site is FILLED with assholes who are just looking for something to get offended or "#Triggered" over.

Come on for the love of god, what the hell is wrong with people?! I'm sure there are a lot of other artists who do the same thing. Who freakin cares how they draw it. Let me draw whatever they want.

This is why I don't visit Tumblr. People that spend a majority of their time on there are purposely looking for something they can find offensive. I sometimes feel that it is worse than 4chan

Fandoms can be fucking TERRIBLE, hands down. Makes me glad I never participate in them. ESPECIALLY on Tumblr.

That aside, never watched SU, and never will, at this point.

Don't let the fandom drive you away from the show, give it a chance. It is a wonderful series and I will always recommend it to people.

Me and my bf watch it together and this is just sad.

Was gonna give the show a chance...not anymore.

The problem a lot of people need to realize, is that the fans of a work, aren't a part of the show's quality. IE, there's people who still continue to hate Sonic games, out of the idea that they've always been bad, and fans of them are children. Or how My Little Pony has its bronies, how Legend of Korra has its fandom members who solely focus on the shipping angle of the show, and very few of them can look at the show beyond a surface level.

With Steven Universe... Yes, the fandom is ass, just like My Little Pony. But the SHOW rarely does anything wrong. The flaws with the show, in my opinion, is the artstyle isn't great. But then it makes its cartoony artstyle into one of its strengths, where the artstyle is more stylized for dramatic moments, and looser for comedy.

It sucks that someone nearly self-terminated because of what happened to them by fans, but... That isn't the show's fault. If you take the fandom's word over a work, you can totally miss out on good works, or even works you can study on what not to do. Please don't give up on any work, because its fans are shitty. That's really mean, sad, and not the work's fault. Series can't control what fans they get.

Pretty low for SU fans, but sadly I expect this kind of thing out of any fandom. In the end they're all humans, so they all make these same terrible mistakes - I used to judge a series by its fandom before I realized that.

Also completely skimmed the Zamii hate blog archive because I was too busy hating whoever made it, but apparently one of her "crimes" is making genderbent art because it's considered transphobic?? WOW

Outside of actual fan content like art or stories, ETC... I often feel trying to interact in fandoms is WAY more trouble then it's worth and that a lot of folks in these groups have a huge stick up their butt. And I feel that it's better to just enjoy yo media of choice just as it is with little or no fandom interaction normally.

PS: Peridot is the best part of the show for me~

This current generation and thei9r lack of respect for their fellow humans disturbs me greatly and severely worries me for the future. I think we need some laws for cyber bullying in order to curb this. These little shits need to have consequences attached to their actions so they'll learn to stop this torment.

Ironically, it's these 'social justice warriors' that are such huge proponents of cyberbullying laws and..well..what basically amounts to censorship.

I'd much rather see a law making it illegal to allow children online unsupervised. Make the parents accountable for these little shit's behavior and things will change much faster.

Ugh, don't get me started on SJWs. >.< The parents should be observing their kids, but the kids also need the punishment. Yeah the parents should get some for not teaching their kids better, but the kids still need to have some punishment for their cruel actions.

That...is the point? If you punish the parents, they have to get involved and shit rolls downhill. If you just target the kids, parents will get protective, defensive, and try to argue and wiggle their precious darling out of the consequences.

Tumblr was an ok social service. But seems like the poisonous part of fandoms are living in that site now and hunts anyone without a second thought. I remember Gashi drew this and the fandom went crazy over it. The artist apologize for drawing them "wrong." Apologized for a cool, funny and decently clean picture in a different look and style is apparently offensive...just let that sink in.

And now they're saying this person is faking it. Sometimes, I think Tumblr needs to shut down so it can disperse the baddies on there to somewhere else.
