Game Review - Supreme Commander
Greetings Commanders, welcome aboard. Today we will be going deep into your training in SUPREME COMMANDER! (and Expansion)
~~ WARNING ~~ Spoilers ahead ~~ WARNING ~~
Gameplay - This game is a hardcore strategy game requiring a lot of time to get truly skilled at. Play as one of 4 unique factions, each with their own specialties, abilities, and perks. Control hundreds of units, build a base that can withstand the harshest assault, and search the rolling maps to find your opponents. Battle by land, air, and sea as you aim to destroy your opponents completely and utterly. This game will have any stategy lover finding their groove and charging for victory
Story - In Supreme Commander, you experience the thrills and losses as you battle your way through 3 different stories (one for each faction) as you struggle to find out what's going on. Taking place directly after the end of the main game, the expansion takes place with a new story that continues what you've come to know and love. New threats, new units, and new dangerous powers await the brave commanders that fight their way through the new 4th race added to the game and their arsenal of death
Sound - The sounds of this game are actually very good. Zoom in and you can hear every zap from lazer guns, the bang of cannons, and the blasting explosions from destroyed targets. Zoom out and you only hear the faint background sounds against it all. Listen in to the voices during campaign too as each voice actor brings their character to life in their communication clips
Replay - Try missions over again to get better scores and complete side objectives on each map, and of course, try your hand at harder and harder computer players in Skirmish as you develop new tactics and plans to take control of the map
Final - 8/10 - The game is amazing and has dynamic battles that take place over dozens of maps, but the thing that really hits it down to 8 is that its meant to be the successor to the game Total Annihilation, but it removed itself to far from its predecessor by ignoring the old factions and many of the things that they had to offer. Great game, but it needed to bring its legacy forward
Thanks again for tuning in Commanders, and I hope to see you on the battlefields of distant worlds. And as always, feel free to shoot me a message below if I was to hard or easy on it, or aspects you liked/disliked of the game too. Until next time, happy gaming!
