Maybe you should build yourself a cheap pc? You can get a fast pc for a fraction of the price of a mac.

it really depends on how "cheap" the pc that you built is. I did that a couple years ago, and it ended up costing the same as a mac anyway

Athlon 6000+ OCed to 3.8GHZ 8gb ddr2 HD4670 1GB graphics card 2x500GB HDs 4xDVD burners for around $700 plus the motherboard can take a phenom2 whenever i need a upgrade later.
