The fact this is even remotely acceptable in your head to respond this way shows a lack of feeling and ability to understand his situation. I would remove my comments from the shame and disgrace this displays about you as a person.
I'm just angry too, y'know? And as far as i'm concerned, religion caused this attack in the first place, so I don't see it as a solution.
However, I have to disagree with you in that religion was the driving force behind the attack.
From what I see, the attack was motivated by Hypocrisy at its ugliest.
Talking about the religion that's apparently associated with the attack (Islam), the Koran/Qur'an says nothing about committing such actions; in fact, the book forbids it.
ISIS/ISIL committed an attack that was:
1. A sneak attack
2. An aggressive attack
3. An attack on non-combatants
4. A terrorist attack
Those are just a few of the things the attack was, and all of which are condemned to the highest degree by the Koran; ISIS/ISIL essentially believes that they are above their holy book (and in a sense, above Allah, and even their beloved Prophet Mohammed).
These people behind the attacks I don't consider "Muslims"...they're nothing more than heartless monsters using religion as a scapegoat for their narrow-minded views. The same can be said for extremists in other religions (or ANYTHING for that matter): they're immoral and heartless...using whatever they can get their hands on to justify their stance.
If part of their plan is to earn world-wide hatred of a certain race/religion/etc...they're succeeding...unless we can look at the world and separate the good from the bad down to every individual out there. It is hard...but it is not impossible.
However, I still disagree for this whole 'Pray for Paris' thing. I believe it's a bad idea for people to rely on prayers to change the world.
*sigh*
Ive had this EXACT same argument on Twitter TWICE in 24 hours.
You can pray and still do other things to help Paris, like send money or support them in other ways.
One is NOT exclusive to the other. Why do people think its only one or the other?
I'm just asking those people who do, to do more.
Sometimes all a person can do is pray because one's unable to do much more. But if one can do more then one should and not wring ones hands with false sympathy.
Also, I don't much appreciate that 'false sympathy' dig. I was born and live in a country divided in half (Northern Ireland), with multiple extremist religious, nationalist and separatist groups on either side. I know what it's like to live in fear, and I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of sectarian violence and hatred.
I'm not talking about everyone who prays, nor everyone in general - only the people who can and should do more, but do not, because they believe god will do everything for them if they just pray.
Shouldn't matter XD
Anyway, I hope u feel better and hope all goes well
Sorry to hear about this loss it is a tragic thing for the people of Paris and Belgium. Sadly I see things getting worse before better. *hugs*
...
We lost one of our own. Possibly the first furry's life that was taken by a terrorist attack. <:(
*sighs*
May the Lord bless France and Paris during this time of darkness.
And may all those involved be brought down with swift and righteous judgement!
Stay strong, France and Lebanon. For Charlie Hebdo and for Bataclan.
