Stream question!
♥Greetings!♥
I often don’t talk first and I should not have to apologize for that.
I’m just one of those "don’t talk unless spoken too" person.
Tips are welcomed!
Mic or no Mic?
I'm asking 'cause I have been curious to use the Mic and talk while I'm streaming, I think it would be quite therapeutic for me too, but well anxiety have so far hindered me from it, so I'm asking YOU guys what you'd think and maybe I might become braver knowing people would be interesting to hear my voice. (even though I can become very quiet when drawing, so focused)
But also I've seen it becoming a popular trend that streamers that use the Mic gets more people to show up than those without Mic?! I dunno if this is true but that's what I've observed.
Anyway, Mic or No Mic?! What you think?
FA+

so I was thinking that talking while streaming would help me get more comfy talking, but sure I do understand and would agree that having someone talking back would be easier per-se but for now I wanna start with just me.
Speaking as a streamer, using the mic frees up your hands to keep working while discussing things with folks, but if the chat is not particularly responsive, it can quickly get frustrating.
The live mic can also help with commissioners being able to give 'real time' feedback to which you can reply without stopping to type while working on their artwork, this can also save time on the traditional back and forward review process that can happen otherwise.
If you are looking for an example, genesisw has a stream where her viewer community has grown over time and she has a pretty good following. She uses a random media player to play music from her eclectic collection as a background filler and either talks about the artwork at hand or whatever pops up from conversations that her viewers are having in the chatbox.
If it is not your strong point then don't panic if it takes a while to get into. You don't need to be talking the whole time, as I mentioned, you initially may simply use it to answer questions from the chatbox instead of stopping your artwork to answer them. It may take time but the rewards can be worth it. If you have the time, check out some other streamers who use the mic and you may begin to see some good and bad ways of doing things.
I have watched several streamers that use mic, that's kinda why I've been wanting to do it myself as well and also since it would make it easier for me to quicker respond to people while arting :) and so far I am having music or sometimes show movies while arting so people don't get bored, hehe.
But yeah this question was mostly to see how popular it would be if I started using mic and make me braver to beat down my damn anxiety to actually get it done!
