Questions about adopts

Hello there dumplings! As a couple of you might know, I drew up some sketchy little adoptables a while back that didn't really sell or spark any sort of attention. It wasn't a big deal, I make up characters all the time and I didn't expect them to get any notice anyhow.
It did get me wondering though... what do you all want to see for adoptables? Different species, certain themes, shold I attach a personality to each one? Well... that last one is tempting anyway, since I constantly make up characters with personalities and backstories but have no where to fit them in my stories, maybe it'd be nice to give them to a new home who could flesh them out.....
Anywho, just curious, plus I would just love to hear from you guys!

That, or they had human hair or clothing, which some people like, but I tend to avoid personally. I was honestly really close to considering a couple of them aside from those qualities, but the character has to strike some ideal chord of balance for me or it's not something I'll pick up. :)
