Sony are going to score a PR coup with this and the way they're going about it. Setting a decent price point to buy the games and not linking them to PSNOW was already a smart move, but going one step further and adding 1080p upscaling and some other little features seems to point that they're giving these games the porting love they deserve. Launching with one of the last great RPG of the PS2 and one I'm sure everyone clamoured for when they asked which games people most wanted is also a wise decision. I own a copy of RG for my trusty PS2, but at £9/$15, I'll certainly be making an investment into this new version to see it (hopefully) shine even brighter.
