It's better to play than to watch. Music's amazing and so on.

Buuut I'm a fan. Made me laugh, made me cry, and really invested me the further I went along.

The fanbase has become toxic and atrocious in many aspects; but damn if it isn't a fine game for the price-tag.

to be honest, I don't even like 2d side scollar and turn based games.

Well that's the thing. xD

You came in with the belief you'd dislike the game, coloring your perception and making it so you'd honestly look at it for things you could nitpick or knowingly choose you'd dislike, or even downplay things you could've enjoyed, and it contains elements you didn't like necessarily.

If you had no knowledge of the game, no bad reception to it without the context, and had entered blindly, you would've been without bias, without precognitive decisions. xD

I still don't like it.

You get what I mean though; right? The idea and notion of going in with " just as bland and boring as I thought it was."

And honestly; the tutorial level in itself while nice really sort of is a gating experience that holds the better portion of the game.

xP But I'm a fan myself, and would advocate for it. Honestly GOTY for me, played on some nolstagia and also delivered greatly on the story and plot, intricately woven and not one of those new RPGs requiring hours and hours of grinding or repetitive tasks to achieve something. Puzzling even!
