We're Making Home-Made Chocolates
We are making home-made chocolates.
There are 6 kinds we are going to try.
Blobs
Blobs with peanut butter & chocolate
Caramel filled
Cherry filled
Almond filled
and Peanut Butter cups also
We have different shaped forms and a lot of miniature cup cake papers.
A lot of tinkering but it is fun.
And we love chocolate.

A lot of tinkering but it is fun.
And we love chocolate.
My daughter got the recipe online and the amount of butter was out by 1 or 2 teaspoons of butter.
We quickly added some more oatmeal but I think they still will be kind of guey.
The regular blobs (without the peanut butter & had coconut instead) turned out great, as did the Cherry filled and Almond filled.
We made hand made carmels but we didn't coat them with chocolate.
The peanut butter cups turned out fabulous.
We put them all in my car, where it is cool to quicken the set of the chocolate (the back seat was covered with trays of chocolates).
I just have to pack them up for the family get-together today.
They are chocolate. - my favourite.
I feel like no one i know does homemade goodies much anymore.
Glad they turned out well. :)
I did some baking myself; 4 kinds.
2)"inverted" peanut butter balls( peanut butter outside, chocolate inside)
3)My family calls 'em O'Henry bars, but it like an oatmeal bar made with molasses covered in toasted coconut and chocolate.
4) chocolate pecan toffee.
What is your favorite out of the 6 you made?
Of ours, I love the regular blobs and the peanut butter cups.
I really want to try your O'Henry bars.
-4 cups oatmeal
-1/2 cup white corn syrup (I reduced to 1/3 as i added molasses)
-1 cup brown sugar
-2/3 cup oil
-1/4 cup molasses(optional)
Stir it all together and put in a greased pan.
Sprinkle shredded coconut on top and drizzle a little molasses, bake at 350°F for 10 mins.
Typically in a 10x15x1 but I used a 9x13x2; i find people like the thickness.
Mine took a bit longer at 18 mins, but it also toasted the coconut and slightly caramelized the molasses.
Afterwards, I sprinkle chocolate chips when it's hot.
I cheated this year and used the leftover dipping chocolate to spread on the bars. It made a nice thick layer of chocolate on top. Super pleased at the outcome.
Sorry for the wall of text, but it's such an easy recipe.
Thank you so much
I am definately going to try this
I'm doing hand sewing.
I'm a nightowl. Always have been, even since I was a kid.
It's when I get my best work done as the hosehold is generally asleep.
Lol.
