Poor Kitty
My 14 year old rescued kitty had to have her eye removed yesterday - got to bring her home today.
She won't let me give her her pain meds at all - no way and the way she jerks when I try, makes me afraid to keep trying in case i do injury.
Her son and her were fighting a lot before and I think he might have injured her in the eye. The vet said the infection could have blocked off and destroyed the eye.
She now has the eye lid stitched closed.
Right now, she is bleeding a bit from her nose - awe.
The vet said this would happen due to draining.
She is the sweetest cat I have ever known.
She will be winking forever now and sweet as ever.
I finally got her meds into her, hidden in some fish cat food - she ate it!!!
Three more days with meds to go.
Hopefully she cooperates for them.
Update:
She seems to be healing nicely and is very affectionate.
For some reason she is scratching the back of her ears.
I put a soft dome of shame on her for a day and a half before she got it off.
I will leave it off for a day to see if she leaves the ears alone.
She is taking her medicine like a pro, hidden in her canned food.
Tonight is the last dose of pain meds - yea.
Update:
Mandy had to go back to the vet - she had an allergy to one of the meds she was on.
Her ears were bare as well as her good eye (which was inflamed).
They gave her a steroid shot which seems to be clearing up the irritation.
