Google didn't have much to say about these characters, other than apparently the trademark has expired. Is this their only cartoon?

This is, in fact their only cartoon. Without going into too much detail, Kenny and I developed the characters based on two drawings that were brought to us by a certain small time crook. This same crook also assembled the shady finance/distribution deals that ultimately led to the death of these characters.

That's a pity, they look interesting. They might have become public domain since, nobody seems to be paying attention to them but you.

That's actually really good. It's a shame that lesser known cartoons like this don't get more love.

"The Christmas Visitor" from Halas and Batcheler

"Hector's Hectic Life" from Famous Studios

"Jack Frost" from Ub Iwerks

and "Christmas Comes But Once A Year" from Max Fleischer.


Kenny and I screened a whole lot of PD winter/Christmas cartoons, and these four were about the only ones that (A) Were in color (B) Did not feature any copyright characters © Weren't completely boring and/or awful. The Fleischer and Iwerks cartoons were the best of that lot.

I'm very happy to have watched this cartoon from you, though it sure is a shame these characters never made it any further.

I can only imagine it's a combination of having to pay a lawyer to sue to get the rights back and alot of negative memories/emotions attached to the project.

Nice, you had Art Leonardi working on this as well. Easily one of the top-five staffers employed by David H. DePatie and Friz Freleng.

Art is an old pal and a tremendous talent. When we needed some ideas for the opening title, Art was the obvious guy to go to, as he was responsible for more show titles than anybody I knew.

That voice acting is hilarious. Thanks for digging this up, it's the best gift I got this year!

Cool characters, I have to say. Although, I originally thought the weasel character in this cartoon was a dog.
