Leaving comments on pictures is a good way to meet people. If somebody posts something you like, feel free to say you like it. You can leave a critique or just say why you like it. If embarrassed, you can even PM whoever posts it instead of public. You can also comment to commenters.

Clean pictures do get a lot less response than porny ones, but commenting on clean stuff can certainly get you noticed a lot more.

To get more views for yourself, post only one picture a day. Posting more than one a day is generally a waste because people rarely comment on even one post and if they have more than one they'll only comment on one. Favs give you chance to engage a person by saying you're glad they liked it, but some consider this spam and some don't.

Rule 34 is good to get people's attention, but it generally just makes them ask for more of that character.

Posting journals is handy for attention, though don't do too many as people can start ignoring them if they are constantly seeing them.

You can ask a question in a journal or submission. People tend to like to answer questions more than respond to random statements.

Include a description with a picture. It gives people something to read and lets them hear your thoughts on the piece or a very short(or not short if you want) story about what's happening in it.

Requests get attention, but they tend to be short lived and people get greedy easily.

Post on more than one site. There are various furry sites around, Fur Affinity, So Furry, Inkbunny, etc(ok, i only actually know the 3 as I don't consider Weasyl a furry site). More sites = more exposure.

You can't know everything and I'm technically just making some of this up(some people like favs, I tend to ignore them), but it's good to talk about ideas to think of new ways to do things.

The posting 1 and only 1 thing a day is the biggest thing to me. Though if two things are intimately related, they can be posted at the same time. I do that with story descriptions for pictures.

The only thing I think he left out is: look around at the groups and see what people are into. Find a mutual interest. Then ask a targeted question based on that. That'll be your target audience. And by leaving shouts on people's pages engaging in a shared interest you're more likely to gain followers.

At the same time. I don't follow my own advice too much. It's worth what you paid for it :) But on a personal level, I'm often open to just talking.
