a lot of people will say most fetish stuff is hunky dory since it's just fantasy, but people critique non-sexual fantasy works when they get into messy territory so we might as well at least acknowledge/be mindful of the issues with fictional kink stuff. and like, context is important ("tg" tf by a trans person vs by a cis person, gaze, etc) but a lot of the time context vanishes as soon as people start sharing and reposting it. it's a conundrum! having kinks that conflict with your values is a weird thing to navigate.

a lot of trans people do enjoy "tg" tf (sorry to keep using scare quotes but i don't even know what an appropriate alternative would be) and even kind of use it as a means to test the waters before they ever consciously realize they've got The Genders so like... idk there is definitely a way to handle it gracefully and if you wanna draw it you can probably feel that out! if you want to, of course. anyway thank you for being thoughtful and even considering this stuff in the first place!

yea, like, i dont really know that id call myself trans per se these days but i have in the past and my genders been all over the fuckin place before reaching its current state of Void, and tf stuff of various kinds has Been There For Me throughout that, for sure

i mean essentially its not so much about the art as about the thinking+fantasisising that led to the art being made? Say a pic of a guy turning into a lady dragon, it's about a guy finding out what it's like to have a vagina (and be a dragoni guess) - that's the fantasy, and it's a pretty common one i guess???

While I´m personally not really into TG (more of a TF purist over here), I can definitely relate to the feeling of wanting to explore certain personal... preferences artistically, yet not daring to do so out of fear of being judged by people who are just looking for an excuse to be offended. On the other hand, my personal experience tells me that fetish communities, interestingly more so than other groups, tend to be really tolerant towards individual kinks, especially if they are so common. I´ve seen successful artists who draw almost nothing but TG material, yet haven´t gotten into trouble for it in any way. Not all of the internet is Tumblr, after all.

In the end, however, it all comes down to your own personal choice. As a watcher, I´d love to enjoy more of your work in any way, shape or form, and seeing you experiment with a bunch of new themes and subjects would definitely be refreshing. Still, if you´d rather stick with the good ol´TF and character art of yours, that would still be fine. To quote a renowned crazy person: Do what thou wilt.

oh uh... my concern isnt that i might produce content that will give people an "excuse" to harass me or judge me or whatever, its that i dont want stuff i make to upset people who already have to wade thru a shit ton of upsetting material whenever they want to try to enjoy anything.

(also what i meant wrt chub stuff is that i enjoy drawing and looking at art of chubby characters bc i am fat but a lot of the time the way people engage with it makes me uncomfortable for the reasons i alluded to in my journal. like its being treated exclusively as a fantasy rather than a way real people look. nobodys givin me shit for my stuff!)

Still, I don´t consider any of your work disrespectful in any way, and you don´t seem like the type of artist that would create anything that´s deliberately trying to upset anybody - in my opinion, you are just worrying a little too much about the way people might react to your work.

If I had to give some general advice, I´d just suggest you draw content that may or may not be considered problematic the way you would like to see it depicted - Taste- and respectfully, in that unique and cute cartoony style of yours, perhaps with a little bit of humour thrown into the mix, just to show that you are simply having fun doing something you enjoy, and are not trying to offend anybody whilst doing so.

I'm not rly in the tf community but. I'm that way with other kinks? Like there is some stuff I'm into but like... the way I'm into it is so specific and impossible to convey in one image that I don't really draw it for public. Bc similar to tfing into real ppl characteristics like... the general community around it likes it for reasons I find Gross and crossing a line.
