please don't be mean to beginner/amateur artists.
they are just starting out, they're still practicing and getting the hang of things, they're still working on getting there.
they haven't learned 'oh this color doesn't clash well with that color' and etc yet
they are still learning
they'll get there someday !!
no one pops out da pussy drawing motzart
i can guarantee no one's art looked amazing when they first started out
everyone starts out with bad crayon drawings and disproportional animals/people/whatever
you can ask any popular artist (or any artist at all for that matter) and they'll all say the same thing, it takes years of practice and studying and hard work
and you know what ??? you never stop learning !!! your favorite artists, artists that seem to already learned everything there is to learn, they're all still learning new things. art is hard !!
instead of being mean and leaving hateful comments and telling them their art sucks, or leaving comments like 'holy shit' or 'there it is' or whatever where it's not fitting(i.e on purposefully bad drawing or smth), encourage them !! tell them their drawing looks good, compliment the colors, compliment how the left leg looks, anything ! IF they're open to it, give them HELPFUL criticism, help them to improve !! telling them their art is bad is not helping !
a little kindness can go a long ways
blogs like horrible-deviantart-drawings and related blogs are shit, i confess i myself used to think they were funny until i realize how fucking harmful seeing your art on something like that could be. something like that can make a person want to give up drawing and never even try again, they can feel like they'll never get better no matter how much they practice.
i'm just tired of seeing young dA/fa artist's drawings of their rainbow sparkle wolf oc going around on tumblr and people leaving snarky comments
please be nice
it feels so much better than being mean
being mean is so tiring like why would u do it
on that note- deviantart, tumblr, fa, and a ton of other places on the internet are crawling with tutorials for just about everything everything ! don't be embarrassed to use them, don't be embarrassed to use a reference. those things are there to help u ! and don't be afraid to experiment with things, create a new style the world has never seen before ! how else will u get better and learn new things ?!!

I feel so bad for anyone who has had to go through that. For me, i went through that with my singing, my choir teacher in middle school refused to let me stand in the front and would constantly yell at me because of the natural rasp my voice has, at one point he told me to sit down and shut up during practice and i stopped singing for a long while because of it. I lost the type of singing i was able to do back then, and now singing to me feels like a guilty thing to do that never sounds right. People tell me my voice is nice, but i still feel that imprinted guilt from those awful memories.
Tl:dr Dont be a fucking jerk to people who are less skilled by your standards, thanks.
i hope he picks up drawing again someday !!!
all of this applies to musicians and singers as well, things like that take a long time to perfect.
it was wrong of your teacher to do that 3:
If you're going to critique me please tell me how to fix it, I probably already know it's wrong but just don't know how to fix it ;w;
