The Legend of Spyro's 10 Anniversary
Well, it's been 10 years since The Legend of Spyro came along, and of course it was made in none other but my home country of Australia. I may not be a fan of the series, but I acknowledge that it yielded some good things, at least before Sierra gave Dawn of the Dragon to Estranges Libellules and instilled the worst case of fanboyism and fangirlism next to Twilight (you probably would know what I'm talking about, though I would make a rant on it some other time). To commemorate TLoS's 10th anniversary, I thought I'd share with you guys an idea that I am pleased to take part of.

My buddy
bluemario1016 wanted to pitch a re-telling of The Legend of Spyro, in which the trilogy would become a Japanese anime television series instead of being remade into video games. He wants to get rid of all the Twilightesque content (like the pairing of SpyroxCynder) to make it less generic and clichéd, and especially give the DotD section of series more focus on Spyro and Sparx rather than Cynder. I must say that at first I didn't like the idea because of the bad experience I had with the SpyroxCynder fanbrats I've seen on Facebook, but when I learned that it will be rewritten, which includes Spyro and Cynder being siblings as originally intended and of course redesigned Cynder to look a bit closer to Spyro, I felt happy to jump on board into the project. So far, we've managed to come up with a voice cast, particularly for Japanese and English (the main English-speaking countries, of course). After some discussing over what actors we have, here's what we've finalised with:
Japanese
Spyro - Hitori Gekidan
Sparx - Hiroyuki Miyasaka
Ignitus - Shinpachi Tsuji
Volteer - Naoya Uchida
Terrador / Gaul - Takashi Nagasako
Cyril / Mason - Shin-ichiro Miki
Cynder - Yūki Kodaira
Malefor - Ryūzaburō Ōtomo
Flash - Daisuke Namikawa
Nina - Yōko Asada
Mole-Yair / Exhumor - Hiroki Takahashi
Hermit / Scratch - Unshō Ishizuka
Chief Prowlus - Rikiya Koyama
Conductor - Minoru Inaba
Sniff - Tomohisa Asō
Kane - Tomomitsu Yamaguchi
Chronicler - Akio Nojima
Hunter - Isshen Chiba
Meadow - Yūsuke Numata
Skabb - Takayuki Sugō
English
Spyro - Quinton Flynn
Sparx - Todd Haberkorn
Ignitus - Patrick Seitz
Volteer / Scratch / Sniff - Vic Mignogna
Terrador / Gaul / Mason / Hermit / Chief Prowlus / Conductor - Travis Willingham
Cyril / Mole-Yair - Jerry Jewell
Cynder - Laura Bailey
Malefor - Sean Schemmel
Flash / Exhumor / Meadow - Kyle Hebert
Nina - Brina Palencia
Kane - Lucien Dodge
Chronicler - Kirk Thornton
Hunter - Johnny Yong Bosch
Skabb - Troy Baker
We've also thought up that the soundtrack would consist of new, original tracks along with arrangements of the songs made for TLoS. We're not sure on who could do the soundtrack, but I think Shirō Sagisu of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame could make a good serious soundtrack like he did with the anime series he is well associated with, including making a Japanese ballad arrangement of This Broken Soul and a J-pop remix of Guide You Home (I'll Die For You), the latter of which is of course about the remembrance of Ignitus, not about Spyro and Cynder falling in "love" as some of the fanbrats would think of the song. Shinnosuke Tachibana and Shoko Nagakawa would be the duet singers for the Japanese version, while in English we could either have Vic Mignogna or Sean Schemmel along with Brina Palencia singing the lyrics to the songs, after hearing how well they've sung the English version of Dragon Soul for Dragon Ball Z Kai. Seriously, hear the versions!
