Yeah this is going to be kinda like that, as always this doesn't apply to everyone or any one just a few people.
so artists will write up a Journals complaining about some one stealing their art work or not paying for a finished commission and they have every right to but whats a working class man like me suppose to do when ive paid for a commission and I haven't or don't receive it? I have at least 6 commissions owed me right now with little to no communications from the artists about when or if they will ever be done, in fact I just had to bribe one of the artists with more money to get him or her to work on a $100 commission I paid for 8 months ago.
Artists we work just as hard for that money as you do and have just as hard of a time making ends meet. Why then when it comes down to it do I see artists fly off the hook for payments late by a week or two all the time but I who have waited up to a year and a half to get 2 three character colored pages. If im hearing from you once a week its no big deal and your not the one im talking about but for you others im about ready to bring the hammer down on some artists and black list them for unfinished work.

I tried being patient, getting little updates once in a while, "Hey, I'm sorry. Things are rough and I had to take some emergency commissions to get through the month so I had to put yours aside and take care of a few "quickies." But I'll get to yours next month, promise.
After eight months though of watching the same pattern and the apologetic e-mails eventually stop coming because you've replied back each time, "It's okay, take care of your immediate problem. I look forward to seeing it soon." you get a little frustrated. So you finally send them an email trying to take them to task. You get no response for four months then suddenly out of the blue after a year of stalling, you get an ultimatum, "IF YOU DON"T STOP HARASSING ME I'M GOING TO BLOCK YOU AND HAVE YOU BLACKLISTED ACROSS THE FANDOM."

Hell?
Okay, it's a year later and you know they're going to be at Table 18 at the same <furrycon> that you gave them $60 for the commission at last year. I'll try to talk with them face to face because they're obviously reading too much into the written text of my e-mail. We can smooth things over and get this mess taken care of.
Try to meet up with said artist at their table, but they're never there when you are. You leave a message with their artist friend sharing the table and after four times are told by "artist's friend," "They don't want to talk with you. Can't you see that. You've made her so upset that she's losing money because she's so stressed out and anxious she can't work."
After <furrycon> your e-mails bounce, you're blocked from their FA, websites and your commission removed from their queue.
This was my most extreme incident, and I've had a few get close to this bad. I learned that dealing with the drama, and artists are really good at making drama, isn't worth getting the art or even the money back. So it's really made getting commissions an anxious and unpleasant experience for me, and an expensive lesson learned.
Sorry you're having to go through getting mugged by unscrupulous artists. There bad apples in every bushel. Given how many folks profess to be artists in this fandom, that leaves a lot of bad apples to stumble across.

Especially if they've taken your money and gone radio silent. :/
.... I didn't forget one of you , did I? o.o'
I always feel like I'me forgetting someone. n.n'
yeah, I can see what you mean :/
I do understand some artiests get busy with personal things and all that but I to get annoyed when I get a commission pay for it and then nothing and then said artiest starts working on everyone else's commissions and then skips me.
usually I give an artiest a few weeks then I bug them by saying "hey how are you doing, by the way..." and that's it.
but yeah I hear ya...
