Come away with me in the night...

I am currently torturing myself with lovely romantic songs From Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, and good ol Louis on PandoraRadio and wishing Combos (my old haunt) was still open. I could do with a clove and a shot of whiskey to cry into right about now.
Just work out. Gods, Goddesses, wind in this budding summer heat, just hear me: Let it work out. And however it works out, let me be happy with it.

Its an easy way to get a story started too, with these types of songs. Mostly with foggy nights, trenchcoats, and long goodbyes...
Music can be quite influential. A later story with the same characters works with Song for a Winter's Night by Gordon Lightfoot.

I'd like to have music come into play whenever I work with these characters (if I ever get them presentable). There are a lot of songs I'd like to work with, most of them from before I was born (I grew up on oldies).
Oldies aren't oldies if you never heard them before ^^ but i know what you mean: my mom listened to everything from carole king, mr. diamond, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole to The Temptations and Ms. Franklin... all that WONDERFUL, fun, soulful music.
Not like the crap they turn out now adays. Nothing but bitches, hos, and bling... *HURK*
For me it's sixties and seventies, an endangered species on the local music stations. One moved to FM and became a mainly 70s and 80s station, while another was shut down without notice and replaced with an all-news format--because the GTA doesn't have enough of those!
oh yeah man! Motown and Hippies and Disco with a stirring of Elvis once in awhile.. oh I really miss that on the radio. I would listen to the damn commercials if I could get a station like that again!
You dilute your whiskey, I'll dilute mine... :)
(Though I prefer Jameson but... never look a gift horse in the mouth!)
Hey, you want to cut the good stuff? Sure thing. :) *reaches over the bar for the Jameson's, smoke trailing from his stick*
You own the place or something? Or do you make it a habit of reaching over a bartender's pulpit and taking what saving grace you can find?
Mmmm... oh, it's definitely a habit. Like many others, including not taking pulpits seriously, ever. And saving grace is all very well, but I prefer to save myself for other things.
*he grins again and lifts his glass* Sláinte Mhaith...
