Commission Info
This page is here to explain any questions of the terms, process and prices of the commissions I recieve and create. If some things are not covered on this page or unclear and you still have questions, don't hesitate to contact me via email at Mave013[at]yahoo.ca to help clarify things.
Commission Guidelines:
The following is a list of subjects that I'm willing to draw as well as subjects that I'm not comfortable drawing. There may be exceptions in some cases but overall this covers the basics of what I will and will not create for you.
What I'm willing to draw:
- Will do fanart and original characters (ocs)
- Shonen Ai or Shoujo Ai or any romantic scenes for that matter
- Furries or Hybrids, may do animals on rare occasions
- Will design ocs if provided detailed physical and slight personality descriptions
- Group pics of maximum five people. Will have more people if done in simplified style though I'll add two dollars for each extra person.
- Most pics will have basic colored backgrounds, unless otherwise indicated that the customer wants something more complex in which the price will be discussed in more detail.
What I'm not willing to draw:
- Anything mech related or machine based. It's not that I have anything against it, I'm just not that skilled at drawing such things.
- Full out pornography. Again there may be some exceptions but I'm not comfortable drawing porn. I will do very romantic or suggestive ideas but otherwise I might turn you down.
- If you want me to draw another artist's character, I prefer it if you had their permission to request an art piece of their character. Unless it is a surprise for a birthday or any other special occassion, I would feel more comfortable with permission and not have anyone hunting me down for drawing their character for money purposes.
- Extreme violence/torture/morbidness. Just not a huge fan of it. I can draw people fighting but gore with broken bones and blood everywhere along with guts, not my cup of tea. Sorry guys.
Rules:
Just some rules to look over that help protect me as an artist and that we're both on the same page here.
- Any images that I create for you belong to you and you alone after you pay me. However! That does not mean you can redistribute said image for commercial purposes. That means you can't use my images to make more money unless there was an agreement otherwise.
- Once you recieve your image, I have no more ownership over it but I do ask that I use it as an example of my work on my websites to further promote my work. I will still credit you as the commissioner, and the creator of the character if it happens to belong to you or another artist.
- You can not remove my signature or watermark from the image, no matter what the circumstances.
- Commissions cannot be modified. They were made a certain way, they should be left it that way. If you ask for permission though to make it into a icon or a banner, than I will consider it and most likely say yes as long as you credit me.
- Depending on the price and complexity of the piece, I may ask for a downpayment of ten dollars before hand. However, anything less than that, I don't ask for the money until the image is finished. By that point I ask you to pay and you will recieve your image.
- Because of the process I follow, I make sure that you like what you see before you get the final piece. Therefore, if you don't like what you have in the end I cannot unfortunately refund you because I would have had your input since the beginning. Pencil sketches are the exception since they are quick for me to do and can easily redo them.
- I can work under a certain time limit but it is very rare. Especially if I stated before hand that I am busy with life.

Request a Commission:
All you have to do is send me a email via the address that is provided above that you're interested and send me a detailed request of your picture. In your email you are to tell me what you want me to draw and how, whether it be a sketch or colored piece, whatever that is listed above. If you have references of what you want me to draw, especially if it's your original character, please send the pics along with your email. The more reference, the better. The same would go for detailed descriptions if you want me to design a character, the more information the better. Also include any email contact information so I can get a hold of you for more questions about your requested piece. At this point we can negotiate the price of the piece and you have the right to agree or to move on to someone else. If you do agree on the price, then I start work as soon as I can. Depending on what type of piece you're asking for, I may ask for a downpayment at this point. But if the drawing is less then ten dollars, then I wait until the piece is finished before I ask for payment. For sketch drawings, it usually doesn't take me long to do and there isn't much of an interactive process. However, for larger/complex drawings I will always update you with initial sketches and go through a process of updating you with images and make changes according to your preference and critique. Once satisfied with the composition and line work, I move on to the coloring process, continuing to give you updates until the piece is finished. When I tell you that the piece is finished, this is when I ask for payment. Once I recieve the payment, you will recieve the piece. And that would be the end of my commissioning process. I will only use the image as an example on my websites but that will be all.
Payments:
I have a paypal account that will probably be the only way for you to pay me for the art work. You only need my email address to make the payment and it is Mave013[at]yahoo.ca . I do request a down payment that is $10 on the more expensive pieces. However if it's below $10, you don't have to pay until you get the piece. Prices are negotiable, I will tell you how much I think it will cost to do a piece and you can argue or agree.
I forgot to mention that if you want me to send you the actual original piece, you have to request it with your commission email. If you don't say you want the original piece mailed to you, I will assume that you want the digital file instead which I can make to whatever version you would like ( jpeg, gif, tiff, png, etc.).
I hope that this was helpful and easy to understand. Again, if you have any more questions, don't be afraid to send me an email. I look forward to doing business with you.
