Nerdapolooza/Deon Con: Star Trek Edition
Neon came down this weekend after I had a long night of closing up at my place of work. At nearly one in the morning we go eat at Ihop where the lady tells us she'll probably get our orders wrong, which she eventually did get them wrong. She was truthful though and apologetic, so it was alright with us.
The next day, us two bears go out and quickly eat our traditional chick-fil-a meal while a local clown is breathing down our necks, blowing up balloons and messing around wtih little kids. We then chased over to the mall where we started seeing the crowd of whom would be joining us in Star Trek. Mainly it was old people, folks in their 60's and so forth and even my neighbors(weird that). Neon first asked as we got in if it was the Digital version and some fanboys scoffed and told him "No. This is just the regular version." I'm sure they wanted to add on some other fanboy stuff, but they were being nice. As the opening commercials went by, I proceeded to do my lisping nerdy fellow impression, which is spot on if I do say so myself.
Anyhow, right in front of us this fellow practically praised every bit of the movie, mainly when characters would say lines from the show. He'd start clapping, yell out a "YES" and just jump about in his seat. We weathered through it though, and I managed to get out without being thumped by anyone for my impression.
After that we lumbered through the mall and whisked on by the tobacco store, which we went into to try out a cigar or two, which were ok. I personally wouldn't do it too far often. It was an experience though and ya only live once.
All in all I found the movie to be pretty darn awesome, I really liked Kirk's attitude. Plus once I knew Simon Pegg and John Cho were in it, I was hooked. The russian guy though, noooo not Crytus, he was a bit over the top.

BLACK CLOWNS ARE NOT FUNNY. And, yeah, the Old Timer Trekkies are full in that cinema. And the Handicap Nerd Racers to the movie counter. Fuck yeah. It will be the next Bum Fights. Twas a great movie.
Cigar smoking was actually pretty fun at the end of it, even if we were like noobs at it, but you know, we could do it again. I'll try to see where we can try hookah when you do come up here.
The evening ended off great with El Toros, and Kung Fu Panda. Thanks for having me again, even if I can be a pain at times. I had a ton of fun. Now I need to match that when you come up here.
Well, that must have been itneresting to see a clown there while eating. Was he funny or just scary?
I haven't heard any feedback yet, but I know that it's been quite busy for that movie here. I can only imagine how fun it was being surrounded by the trekkies and making fun of them, especially with that kid in front of you two, hehe.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the movie though!
