I do believe that it's Kellogs attempting to claw back their animal mascot. Trying to tell everyone that they are not part of the 'disgusting' furry community, and that they are safe for children.

Most people have sexual thoughts about others, whether it's other people, or fictional characters. This is fine. And telling somebody not to lust over someone (fictional or otherwise) is an exercise in futility: we can no more choose who we find sexually attractive than we can choose which foods we prefer.

However, there is such a thing as decorum and etiquette. When in public, there are things that are not courteous, and being overly sexual with someone, especially when there's a real and non-consenting person behind it, is one of those things we don't do. Masturbating to thoughts or pictures of Tony the Tiger: A-okay, everybody has their equivalent of this (whether they admit to it or not) and it's not a bad thing. Harassing the person who happens to manage the mascot's Twitter account, not so much. Posting sexual content without even an attempt to minimize exposure to minors...I think I don't need to address the legality of that.

I think a lot of furries have to get off the Internet and go outside to realize what the real world is actually like; then the penny might drop and they'll realize how stupid they are to do stuff like that.

It was a false flag attack; anti-furry trolls pretending to be furs used our own TTG porn to bomb Tony's twitter feed, so that we would be blamed and ridiculed for it.

Kellogs could have played it cool, People could not have taken Tony porn to his page.
But people did it for the lulz, Kellogs didn't take it cool, cuz that joke could mess their reputation.

And furries laugh it away cuz "the community is doomed" is a running gag. It saddens me that
people wear it like a badge. I look at Zootopia, i get worried it goes too far on any side.

I think it's stupid to tell the PR twitter account of a cartoon cereal mascot that you have a fetish for that character, and to make lewd remarks about it. On the other hand, it would be silly to say this without acknowledging that this is old hat for the fandom.

It's honestly something I just shrug off at this point as "furry drama".
